Prince Andrew will relinquish the use of his royal titles including Duke of York after discussing the matter with King Charles.

“In discussion with The King, and my immediate and wider family, we have concluded the continued accusations about me distract from the work of His Majesty and the Royal Family,” Prince Andrew said in a statement released by Buckingham Palace.

The change will take effect immediately, a royal source told CNN.

Prince Andrew has faced mounting pressure over his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein and his links to an alleged Chinese spy.


However:
Andrew will continue to reside at the Royal Lodge in Windsor, where he has a private tenancy agreement, a royal source said. He will also retain his title as “prince” because he is the son of the late Queen Elizabeth II.

Well this whole cover up and delay has really been always about the Crown and not about Trump. Next....

That’s because of the email leak. They’ve been trying to push him out of the royal lodge for a while because he can’t afford it. Charles wanted to give it to Camilla but he probably has something on them and refuses to leave. The post went viral and the line about playing is impossible to explain. Similar messages were released between Epstein and Sarah too. They’ve been asked to stay away for the holidays and won’t be going to Sandringham. The public wants Charles to cut ties.

I read a few years ago about Epstein and Andrew. No body is going to do prison time over it. I thought Andrew gave up his title a long time ago.

He resigned from public life in 2020 (no more opening hospitals, visiting schools, that kind of thing) and in 2022 was stripped of some ceremonial military titles by the late Queen.

Now he has given up various aristocratic titles - he was a Duke, an Earl and a Baron, but no more.

Ironically, it's not the "public life" that got him in trouble, it's what was going on in the "private life"

Does "The crown" really have that kind of pull over US politics anymore?

If it was a case where Australia or Canada were at the forefront of the Epstein scandal (or any of the other countries that are still part of the "British Commonwealth") I could see that being the case to a certain degree,

Between Andrew and his nephew in California, Royal Fatigue is becoming a real thing. While as a Christian I'd be concerned if I had enmity for these people, I find it difficult to muster much sympathy.
