The Romulus Program

Hmmm, well how about this? My Romulite character's cell in the research facility is situated so that he can see the security area and he can watch all the monitors. That's been his only source of entertainment for years and he knows everyone who comes and goes from the facility. But Tara is his favorite. He likes watching her because she's pretty and she seems like a nice person. He has a bit of a crush, if you will. (Whether or not Tara follows up on that, Star, is completely up to you. I'm just creating a motivation here. LOL) So when he overhears that she's in trouble at the hospital, he finally gets up enough courage to break out of the facility to save her. How he runs into Leviathe so that Leviathe can heal her, I'm not sure. Since Leviathe seems to be the go-to guy when a Romulite escapes, perhaps he gets a phone call telling him that my character (I don't have a name for him yet) has escaped. Maybe Leviathe will know exactly why my character escaped and they'll hurry over to the hospital as well?

Just a rough sketch. If anyone has any suggestions for it, please let me know. And if you guys were thinking something else entirely then that's completely cool. I'm just kind of thinking out loud here. lol.

The holding area for all the Romulites was attacked.

Here is one little possibility:He could have been taken away from the facility for some field testing, he may have fallen or something, something to make the guards just dismiss him as dead when they find out the Project was attacked. They rush to the scene, and are killed along with everyone else.

You Romulite could be ok, a little banged up or whatever, Leviathe can heal whatever else. If he appears to be human at all, some worried people could bring him to a hospital where he could notice Tara being taken into a room. The whole crush and surveillance thing stands fine.

And Leviathe isn't the professional guy that knows everything about the projects, he only goes out hunting those who escaped. He just goes out on more stealthy operations, not military ones.

That sounds good. I was going to have him appear mostly human, so he'll probably just be somewhat injured from the attack on the holding area, perhaps unconscious, and emergency personnel will have taken him to the hospital thinking he was human. That works. Thanks!

And I just noticed, the military Dmitry Marov guy has been MIA for about a month now.

Well, actually, I have three other minor characters. The "creator" that wants the fledgling, and two other Romulites under his enslavement. They play roles later in the thread though.

He looks perfect, they could just be testing his shifting ability in a controlled environment. Someone could leave the area unsealed if they think he is dead as they all rush out or whatever you decide.

Only suggestions. Do what you will.

Cool! Glad you like him! And yeah I like that idea, Praven. Since Nova said he was going to be gone for awhile, I guess it's all right then if I just post as Jack without getting his OK? I mean, I'm pretty new to RPG's so I'm not sure what the "protocol" is so to speak when the GM is gone. lol. I'll post Jack's appearance tomorrow (errr.....today hehe) if it's OK.

Your character is fine, but is he a romulite? From the discription he sounds more like a genetic experiment then a romulite. I'm sure that's fine, but he woudln't be able to hang with the romulites since he's completely different from even them.

Romulites and genetic experimentation aren't that different. They messed with the code and ended up with Jack, tattoos and all.

Or, they could have done further physical experimentation on him. So far we haven't had too many Romulites being bred for battle. Leviathe is assassin-esque, but Aleta seems more intelligent. And Kyla seems to be on the psionic side.

Yeah, the way I figured it was.......he was intentionally created to look human, but not be human. He has the appearance and capabilities of a human (plus some special abilities) so he could pass as a human and fight like one. And yet he wouldn't be a human, making him expendable. See? He wouldn't have the conscience or morality that a human does so killing people wouldn't bother him, and if the government decided that he wasn't useful anymore and had him terminated then it wouldn't be a big problem because he's not really human. Nobody's going to cry in outrage against the government if they kill a Romulite or they send a Romulite on a suicide mission. That's just the way I thought about it. hehe.

Romulites as an expendable army. Sounds like a totally valid idea.
