The Romance Thread

Okay you guys, I would like to get a positve ongoing thread about romance. Whether it' a romantic song you love, a movie, an idea, or gift, a date, an experience you've had like a kiss , or an experience you would like to have. Whatever. Let's get this thing started. And have FUN!

I think going on a double date to the drive ins would be fun and romantic.

Our most romantic times are when DH totally suprises me by doing something that I love and is totally not his thing.

for our anniversary one year (which we are celebrating 15 years today), he suprised me by taking me out for dinner, to see Mama Mia (he hates musicals), and then booked in the honeymoon suite we spent our wedding night in.
Also, I love how he tucks my fingers in his hand when we are walking in the cold. He makes sure I am warm over his comfort.
I could go on, but I think thoughtfulness is the most romantic thing he can be for me.

Sometimes he curls up like a puppy in my lap for no particular reason.
He would shoot me for saying that though.

I think that song off the wedding singer is pretty romantic, where he is on the plane and he sings:

" I want to grow old with you....even let you hold the remote..."

Here's something that I think is sweet - on our wedding day, when we were posing for pictures, the photographer had us pose for a kiss...and then hold it while he got just the right shot. So we were just standing there in front of a whole bunch of family with our lips pressed together, but not moving. Really hard not to laugh. Anyway, my husband still (8 years later) says that's one of his favorite romantic memories so far - he can nearly wax poetic about the intimacy of being lip to lip, frozen in place... He's such a 'man's man' so I think it's so sweet that he was so moved by that moment.

The most romantic times we have are when we can giggle together. This often happens during yard sailing and just going out doing nothing in particular. We see something silly and off go the mouths with the ridiculous ... pretty soon we're cracking each other up.

i think any slow song by Luther is romantic. i'm not the biggest luther vandross fan, but he has an amazing silky voice.
