As well as a few other things........Maybe Joe can appoint Hunter to be his new Energy Secretary. I hear he is an expert on the oil and natural gas industry.
A recent example of false or misleading statements on energy costs from Mr. Biden was last week. He wrote in a Wall Street Journal op-ed about combating inflation that utility companies told him if his climate plan would be adopted — which it has not been due to a lack of support in Congress — the average family’s annual utility bills would be reduced by $500.I don't think it was "part of his plan" as much as his rhetoric is more "trying to retrofit the current situation into my party's platform like it's something we planned on".
But I don't think anyone is actually buying that explanation. (Apart from people trying to attribute a nefarious motive/plan to him that he's not clever enough to have come up with)
The reality is, "gas prices" have always been something of a major talking point, and no president has ever like having high gas prices during their administration, and have always liked to tout low gas prices when they happen as evidence of "the economy doing better", and when gas prices are high, presidents will often try to rationalize them any way they can.
When you look at gas prices over the past 20 years, there have been a lot of ups and downs and there doesn't seem to be a pattern with regards to which party is in power.
For instance, there was a time under Obama that gas prices were 1.78 per gallon, and a time under Trump where it was 2.90 a gallon. If it were as simple as "democrats want to artificially make gas expensive on purpose to push a green agenda", Obama would've done that in 2009.
The reality is with gas prices, unless we get to a point where we rely only on ourselves for it and don't have any international partners, there's going to be a lot that's out of a president's control.
I'd go as far as saying state governors and legislatures have more of an impact on "what we pay at the pump" than a sitting president, as the gasoline taxes (one of the few aspects that are something within our control) are something dictated at the state level.

Yeah...i hear he is quite the artist too.As well as a few other things........
You say this like this would be a bad thing ?Maybe Joe can appoint Hunter to be his new Energy Secretary. I hear he is an expert on the oil and natural gas industry.
It is a bad situation all around, the damage done by Joe will be with the world for years. The high inflation rate hurting poor Americans the hardest, the strip mining pollution caused by China to process minerals for electric cars, the child slave labor used in the Congo to produce cobalt for electric cars. Joe was warned about the summer brown outs and black outs we can expect but won't lift a finger to produce the energy needed to stop this dire situation. How in the world can these people realistically expect the power grid to handle all electric cars? You say this like this would be a bad thing ?

seemed to work ok until 2020 what changed? We need to diversify our energy sources. As we can see, depending almost solely on oil for transportation has lacy us victim to extreme price increases. It’s not wise to be so oil dependent.
If we supply our own needs why would the world establish the costs of our own product in our own country? Export fees etc could keep the oil companies from selling product on the world market for a higher price. So?It’s not a competitive industry. Oil prices are set on a global market. And it is the primary fuel for transportation so we are stuck with whatever price is set.
funny I do not seem to be getting more product for my dollar. For someone trying to "crash the dollar" he's doing a p-poor job of it since it has gained in strength during his time in the presidency...

If you want to safely evacuate from a foreign country, you leave the military in there last. If you want to convert to all electric cars you make sure there is enough electricity and batteries to do so. This is not rocket science. You build some natural gas plants in areas where they are just burning natural gas off and you build pipelines. You increase wind and solar. You don't first attack the fossil fuel industry in a country where the majority of power plant energy comes from fossil fuel. He’s President, not God.
This feels like one of those threads where the facts aren't going to line up with the talking points. For someone trying to "crash the dollar" he's doing a p-poor job of it since it has gained in strength during his time in the presidency...

Pandemic deaths are way down, people are able to safely get out and do things, and thus demand for oil is back up.seemed to work ok until 2020 what changed?
Russia supplies/supplied 20% of US oil imports; now it does not. As of November 2021, Russia was the largest supplier of oil to the world and the second largest exporter of crude. The ongoing war has disrupted this supply.seemed to work ok until 2020 what changed?
Evidently, you are not buying other currencies with your dollar as the US dollar has gotten stronger in relation to those. Again, it is in no way "collapsing".funny I do not seem to be getting more product for my dollar.
What is it you need explained to you?Yes, you do need to explain yourself.
Oh, there's one misunderstanding right there - Biden is not a progressive leftist, nor is his mouth. He is solidly moderate. Who is this "THEY" that you believe will solve this problem? And which problem - supply, demand or price control?I have already said uncle joe needs to shut his progressive leftist mouth about getting rid of oil and then get out of the way so THEY can contribute to solving this problem.
Do you really believe that Big Oil will forego profits for spite? As long as joe and his progressive leftist buds run their mouths about shutting down fossil fuels the oil companies are going to sit back and watch them cook in their own fat.........
Regulations. How else?Controlled in what way?
For someone who isn't he has certainly embraced their agenda.Biden is not a progressive leftist
Who pumps the oil out of the ground? Who refines it? Who transports it? Sure tain't the government so THEY isn't THEM.Who is this "THEY" that you believe will solve this problem?
Why should they? They take the all the risk. They should get the reward.....same as any other type of company.Do you really believe that Big Oil will forego profits for spite?

At least Hunter Biden has working knowledge of certain legal aspects of the business; however, Biden, unlike the previous guy, is not given to nepotism. How much expertise did Jared have of distribution of emergency supplies, the Israel-Palestinian conflict, etc.? How much profit did he and his wife make during their time in the White House and how has he cashed in afterwards?Maybe Joe can appoint Hunter to be his new Energy Secretary. I hear he is an expert on the oil and natural gas industry.
