Talk about whatever frustrates you and what you want to get off your chest. Not a place to argue but a place to vent. Get it out here and leave it out of the positive threads. :)

Ok, Eisen Spere. I'll start.

I'm tired of people who don't listen or empathize; I'm especially tired of people who aren't willing to consider another point of view in a robust way. I'm also tired of the sinful things that the people of this world create, even within the context of Markets and Capitalism.

I'm also tired of myself ... and I'm tired of having to disagree with ... a whole lot of people on a whole lot of things.

Ok. There. I said it. (...now I'm wanting to feel better that I've got it out there. How come I don't?) :sorry:

Peace,

I'm tired of how smarmy and mealy-mouthed our local news "personalities" have become.

I'm also tired of all their teasers - 2, 3, 4 or 5 teasers designed to tempt us to stay tuned for an all-important "that story coming up next." 5 - 10 minutes advertising non-news they're about to talk about that takes only 30 seconds to tell us once they finally get around to telling us.

And why does the "personality" who does the local traffic report need a facebook page, a twitter account, instagram, and several 900 numbers? Does the program director really think we need that information - let alone care to have it?

Thankfully though, were it not for our local news stations, how would we know about how to drive in inclement weather, safely walk across the street, dress for a rainy day, keep from getting sunburned, how important exercise and eating right is, what the best wine is for fish, why coffee might be good for you (vs. how bad they told us it was 5 years ago), that tax day is April 15th (whodathunk?), what things we might not have known we could deduct on our taxes, the importance of leashing our dogs, why cats don't like baths, what to say on a first date, when to fertilize our lawns, how to save money at the grocery store, the latest you-tube video, where to vacation, how to save on our electric bills, why not to leave our keys and other valuables in our cars, which breakfast cereal has the most sugar, why not to scratch mosquito bites, best gifts for Valentines (for her, for him), Mother's Day, Father's Day, history of President's Day, why not to hold a lit firecracker, what to do if you're handed a lit firecracker (really), best places to go rollerskating, how to fix a flat tire, how to recycle, what to recycle, why littering is bad, how to view an eclipse, how to make your own Halloween costume, latest trends in makeup, when to wear earplugs at a concert, what not to bring to the ballpark... and etc. etc.

...answers to all the above coming up...

Why is everyone married? On top of that when someone flirts with you daily, you'll find out that they too are married! What is the point in that? If someone isn't happy with their partner why go behind their back and act interested in someone else? Why go the long heartbreaking route instead of saying, Hey I'm not happy. I do not feel like I am in love anymore. When did the word love become a new way of saying habit? Not happy than tell them before trying to go find someone else!!

I've been especially frustrated with myself for the past month or so because I feel a strong urge and burden to spread the gospel to everyone and I mean everyone I come across, but I get so caught up in the fear of what men think about me, that I fail to fulfil the first love to even a few. It's eating me up inside because I hardly ever even try to share it, simply because I'm always afraid of scorners or revilers (which I work with a couple). I've never thought myself afraid of confrontation or honesty, but when it comes to this I seem to be. I think it's because I have a defeated attitude to start with. I think, 'Oh well everyone has grown up in small town Texas, so they've grown up hearing about Jesus, so there's nothing new I can tell them.'

It's not like I'm ashamed of the Gospel of Christ or anything like that (they all know I'm sternly Christian), but it's like I won't even try because of the fear of thinking I know what's already going to happen, which is clear and utter rejection.

Then I think - well it's my job to give them the chance to reject it. I'm either planting a seed, watering the seed that has already been planted, or clearing my conscience of the fate of the wicked. Or better yet, I could actually lead someone to Christ! But how would I do it if I never try? I just need to get out of my comfort zone big time, and I want to more than anything; I just let fear cripple me and it really gets me depressed.

Driving to work today; usual route. Stopped behind maybe 5 other cars to turn left at a stoplight that's typically very long. Today it didn't change at all. Figure we waited there the amount of time it'd take for 3 normal cycles. Decided to pull out of line and go right instead. Got to the intersection and saw the person in front of the line staring intently at the light - - - 3 full car lengths from the intersection (and thus far enough away not to trigger the light). Got about a mile away and looked back and she was still there at the light... waiting. Sigh...
