Nothing we know about the universe requires a god, of course you can always use god to answer the questions we do not yet have answers for.

We know that chairs have to be designed. We don't know if universes need to be designed.

If I was lucky enough to go to the moon and then lucky enough to find a chair, I would conceder myself most fortunate that I could sit to enjoy the views; none of which require a mystical deity in their creation.
