Hey all,
I'm looking for any Scripture or insight anyone has to offer. For about a year now I have been battling to keep my faith in God. Over the past year, many doctrinal issues that before I never gave too much thought to have begun to bother me. Here is my struggle. Romans 5 and other various places in Scripture teach us that we are born into slavery to sin. Looking at life, I know this is true. But in other places, Scripture tells us that children are a gift from God, we are encouraged to continue to have children even. My question is why God creates us and encourages us to procreate when we are born condemned, enslaved to sin, and in very serious danger of eternal punishment? I have had trouble lately being grateful for salvation when I feel like I was basically screwed from birth. I really don't want to lose my faith and I am afraid. How can I view myself, God, sin and salvation in a way that pleases the Lord?
