This kind of irrational negativity:
is very Leykis-esque.
To find someone to be with in marriage. To grow old with, to raise kids with, to be supportive of each other at all times and to be together at worship for the Lord.
God bless!!!![]()
significant otherwhat is S/O?
Then what is the purpose of marriage?
so I can get married and have a familyWhat is the objective of finding a husband?
I think its up to what you want, personally I want a bunch of kids so it is necessary to me but may not be to otherscompanionship, being a 'team' and doing more for God and others than would be possible to do alone (in some cases). Personally, I'm too old to be worrying about kids so I don't think it's "necessary" to raise kids. In a world where there are over 6 billion people, tons of people in poverty and starvation and not enough resources, kindness, and concern to help them, why would it be necessary to 'be fruitful and multiply'? I think God at this point in time would be more pleased with us caring for each other than creating new lives to add to the burden.
Sorry....got on a rant there. I just get aggravated when I hear/read that having kids is "necessary".
I believe God respects every couples decisionJust to clarify: I'm not condemning those who want/have kids. My frustration lies in the thought that I'm somehow flawed in God's eyes because I happen to be one who doesn't have/want kids. To me, that is legalistic mumbo jumbo.... Sorry....
Is it necessary to raise kids?
You could not be more mistaken about the exegesis of that verse, my friend.YES and it is the main purpose of marriage.
genesis 1:28And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply...
