I had again the dream
That I once dreamed before
A childish thought
Of knights in days of yore,
The noble heart, the maidens true,
The young men who
In gardens dark below
Do speak their heart in noble verse
To balconies above
(Of course there was supposed
To be no one upon the rail
To listen to their love)
And yet they still pour out their soul
And break their heart
If they should fail
To spark the heart of maiden fair
Who listens sight unseen.
They risk sure punishment to win
The daughter of the King.

(Perhaps there are others who also understand these things the same way. Thanks for the encouragement, Caitlin et al.)
