Hello CL........Herod's temple and Sanctuary were in 1st century Jerusalem.
Jesus mentioned Jerusalem in the verses just previous to the 70AD Jerusalem/Temple discourse;
The "house" could be symbolizing either the
Temple, the
Sanctuary, both of those, or
House of Judah
Mat 21:13
And He said to them, “It is written,
‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,' but you have made it a
‘den of thieves.' ”
Luk 19:46
saying to them, “It is written,
‘My house is a house of prayer,'but you have made it a
‘den of thieves.' ”
Matthew 23:37
