When the Secret Op-Ed Hero mentioned the 25th Amendment in his or her New York Times screed this week, it was an excuse. The anonymous patriot wanted to absolve himself or herself of blame for failing to take real action to stop a president who's quite clearly a few screws short of a hardware store. So the author said invoking the 25th Amendment would cause a "constitutional crisis."

The truth is we're already in one, and those inside the White House who understand the president isn't All There are just trying to squeeze a little bit more out of the deregulation frenzy—and solidify a conservative Supreme Court—while polishing their resumes for their next job in conservative politics once the whole thing blows over.

But President Trump held a rally in Montana last night, and it wasn't an advertisement for his Fitness For Office. This is because he spent large periods of it slurring his words and wildly hopping between disparate topics.
tulc(wouldn't go so far as to call the anonymous op-ed writer a "hero") :sorry:

I would think that the honorable thing to do would be to resign, and then write the editorial.

Honor seems to be rather scarce at that address, lately.

Frankly, I didn't see or hear most of what this author claims in his article. Slurring his words? That's how he always sounds when giving a speech.
Anonymous? Pretty much everybody 'gets their tongue caught around their eye tooth and can't see what they are saying' once in awhile.

As much as I dislike Trump I can't agree with this author. Maybe I just missing a lot?

Trump's long had a history of sounding like he's just pulling things out of his rear while giving speeches, not thinking through what he's saying at all. Being repetitive. Finding any opportunity he can to brag about himself, crap on someone else. I do think he's gotten worse but Idk that it's dementia or anything of the sort, just his personality getting even sourer with time. He's never had the temperament or experience for the job.

I wouldn't call the op ed writer a hero either. It was counterproductive to publish the op ed now. Like sneaking up behind a killer then before stopping him from putting the gun down loudly announcing to everybody you're going to stop him.

I did not hear any slurring. As far as anonymous goes, I have trouble saying that. And cinnamon. And other words with similar letter combinations. I can’t fault him for that.

I disagree. Donald Trump is a good man and a true Vicar of Christ.

Not just there but across the nation.
I see it as part of the descent into the end times, where people
will believe any lie because they choose not to believe the truth.
We see that in many areas already, from politics to science.

Do you know if he has false teeth? I see there is a
load of speculation about it since that speech.

A poor microphone could make a world of difference.
That's why pros use the mike covers and shields.

Microphone excuse has already been used. No chance. On the other hand, he's very vain and never admits the slightest imperfection on his part. So as I suggested, dental issues could be the cause of his frequent slurring.

However, analyses of his speed from decades ago, shows a marked deterioration in usage, vocabulary, and sentence complexity.

That's not a good sign.

He was not always so linguistically challenged.

STAT reviewed decades of Trump’s on-air interviews and compared them to Q&A sessions since his inauguration. The differences are striking and unmistakable.

Research has shown that changes in speaking style can result from cognitive decline. STAT therefore asked experts in neurolinguistics and cognitive assessment, as well as psychologists and psychiatrists, to compare Trump’s speech from decades ago to that in 2017; they all agreed there had been a deterioration, and some said it could reflect changes in the health of Trump’s brain.
https://www.statnews.com/2017/05/23/donald-trump-speaking-style-interviews/

It's marked decline in quality, one that is unusual in presidents.

An analysis of the President's first 30,000 words uttered in office found Mr Trump speaks at a third- to seventh-grade reading level – lower than any other President since 1929. Mr Trump’s vocabulary and grammatical structure is “significantly more simple, and less diverse” than any President since Herbert Hoover, the analysis found.

The comparison is based on interviews, speeches and press conferences for every president dating back to 1929, compiled by online database Factba.se. Analysts at Factba.se studied the “off-script” remarks of all 15 men – essentially, everything but their prepared speeches – to compare and contrast their speaking skills.

Analysts ran the records through eight different tests for vocabulary complexity, diversity, and comprehension level. In every single test, Mr Trump scored the lowest.

Mr Trump averaged significantly fewer syllables per word than the last 14 Presidents, and used significantly fewer unique words. The gaps appeared when comparing all available remarks, and when comparing only the first 30,000 words of each presidency. Social media posts were excluded from the data.

On the other hand, Hoover was at least above-average in intelligence. So it's not a certain mark of low intelligence. It's troubling though that his speech has deteriorated over the years. That was not the case with Hoover.

Donald Trump is a good man and a true Vicar of Christ.

For a Catholic, the apostolic succession defines who is a vicar of Christ. And it's not the guy who betrayed four wives in succession, and had to pay off some of the women to keep them quiet during his presidential campaign.

Even in the informal view of the term as an imitation of Christ, how do you figure Trump's repeated adulteries and his boasting about sexual assault, make him Christlike?

I called Trump a Vicar of Christ, not the Vicar of Christ. There's a difference.

The term may also be applied to bishops, in the Catholic Church. I would suppose that it would also apply in Eastern Christian churches as well. However, the point remains:

Look at the ridiculous tweets on which the author is relying. No bias here folks.

I listened to a couple of the clips too. There was no slurring of words. He does sound the same as always.

Just another nasty piece. "Broken brain"? Really?? That's the level to which liberals have stooped now?
