Mathonwy reached the heavy door of the inn and pulled it, revealing a crowd teaming with the sweaty peasants that had watched the parade all afternoon, and thus their odor mixed with that of beer and crushed peanuts in the dust.
"Ah! Mr. Mathonwy, sir! Will it be the usual!" cried emphatically the bartender while he cleaned a shining glass mug, whose face was lit from dimple to dimple because of the vast number of customers.
"Oh- sure...but do you know where I can fin-"
"Oh good, sir, very good! I knew you were going to say that, sir, that I did huh haha."
"Yes Majky, but I need to know where I can find a band of-"
"You'll be happy to find our iced coffee- mocha being your preference of course- even better than the last time you graced us with your presence," the burly, red-faced balding man muttered glowingly into the pewter cup which he was mixing the coffee and chocolate in.
Mathonwy, exasperated from the bitter heat and the all too familiar rambling random conversation Majky was accustomed to, leaned over the counter with wide eyes, and a tense, straight neck, replying, "
Majky!"
The bartender looked up as if someone new had just entered the "di"alogue. "Yes, what can I do for ya?"
"There was a strangely-assorted band of travellers that were supposed to check in here not too long ago. Could you tell me where they went to?"
"Oh, why, sure, Mr. Mathonwy! Always glad to help a benefactor out! Why, I recall the day that your mother came in asking for-"
"Majky."
"Oh- yes- right- they went..."
