  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hovind doesn't believe in descent with modification.
No, and he doesn't believe in intellectual honesty, and so presents a mill-degree doctorate and insist on being called doctor. And he also doesn't believe in the law and so was charged with 58 felonies and got 10 years in jail.

what's the difference?
I would be identified as one into theistic evolution. I believe that evolution would be impossible without God. I also affirm that creation is God's own self-evolution from unconsciousness into consciousness and self-actualization.

No duh, he's really big into creationism. If a person thinks that Kent Hovind supports evolution, then what on Earth do they think a creationist is? joshua, you're confusing pretty much everyone here with your nonsense.

He most emphatically did not go to jail for his religious beliefs.

Atheistic evolutionism says no God was required to evolve mankind.

Theistic evolution says God used evolution to create man and the bible is incorrect in its description.
The actual theory is secular, and says nothing about whether or not a god was necessary or involved.

He spent 10 years in jail for not only tax evasion, but in addition, expressing no remorse for his crime. Nobody likes to pay taxes, but they are necessary and not optional under the law. Tax evasion is basically like robbing the government vault.

Well, I don't agree that the whole course of evolution was planned out, from the start. I don't see why God would bother with something like that. God well knows that a lot can happen between now and tomorrow. God knows all creatures have freedom and therefore can choose otherwise than where God lures them. It would be ridiculous f or God to sit back and say 13.5 billion years ago, "Well, I'm definitely having a Shakespeare come along and write the following plays..." God wouldn't do that because there are simply too many "if's" in such a prediction.

Jesus himself stood up for the tax collector and encouraged his disciples to pay up. Another interesting think about Hovind is his mill degree and phony dissertation. For a real hoot, check out excepts available online.

What do his beliefs have to do with tax evasion?

In the writings of the major Jesuit philosopher Teilhard de Chardin, Christ is a step in the evolutionary process, pointing to the coming Kingdom of God, which is the goal of teh evolutionary process.

According to singularityhub Humans are not the Pinnacle of Evolution they are only a rung on the ladder.

Evolution has no concept of progress, or of there being a pinnacle.

According to Theistic Evolution JESUS is the Pinnacle of Evolution.

Evolution, theistic or otherwise, has nothing to say about the nature of Jesus. That is theology.

Theistic Evolution goes back to the Big Bang or the beginning of the Universe.

Again, evolution, theistic or otherwise, is about the evolution of life on Earth. It has nothing to do with the Big Bang.

They go so far as to say all of the universe revolves around mankind.

Theistic evolutionists say no such thing. As a group they have very diverse theological views. Some would have a theology so man centred that it dethroned God, others wouldn't.

That this was God's plan and purpose for all of creation and for that reason Jesus is the Pinnacle of Evolution.

Why do you keep dragging evolution into areas where it has no relevance? TE's, like all other Christians, get their Christology from the Bible and the various creeds of the Church.

Everyone believes in evolution.

There are some tiny parts/branches regarding origins that are
not universally accepted becuase all such things are faith based.

The parts that are unbelieveable are all those beyond
adaptation within a species.
