yes... but we cant expect them to be the exact copie of the origional actor or actress, we must let them imporvise, mess about with the characters, etc.

i totally dont expect them to be an exact copy! :p but i do expect them to be equally good. They have to measure up. I am sure, if you saw the show i saw that night, you would agree with me.....I know it must be hard to imagine how bad the performance really was.

Like i said earlier, i LOVE THIS SHOW!!!!! and i love musicals and appreciate music of all sorts....just not when the performers rush through it and totally kill the whole show. There was no drama to it, no love.....they just literally rushed through it!

thats a shame, i hate it wen you go to see Actors who cant Act... its pointless. and its even worse if they can and they just rush through and bluff it all. thats a waste of money... o well. such is life!

i love it too...just dont go a see a show ( at least 1 that you really like, on like a holiday or something like valentines day) cuz i guess they all just didnt really want to be there that night!

for all of you fans....who was your favorite character? mine was definatly the phantom. everything about him is great! i always feel so bad for him at the end of the story.....i wish him & christine would have ended up together instead of her & raul. I thought raul was corny!!!

Woohoo! Phantom of the Opera Rules! I have the original cast CD (1988 copyright, its almost as old as me). I've seen Phantom of the Opera twice, 1st time was when I was in third grade and I saw the Original Tour when it came to LA. It was the original cast except for the Phantom, but that's all right because the Christine (the original one) was awesome! I have loved it ever since. I saw once again in LA this last summer and the preformers were wonderful. How much do I love the Phantom of the Opera? Simple: I taught myself how to sing by learning my way through all the songs in the show by playing them in my car. I can now sing for all male character parts! (And some of the female ones as well). I absolutely love them all. I would also start to quote lyrics off the top of my head but I wouldn't be able to stop myself and that would make for an extremely long post and I'm pretty sure that others would not enjoy it.

I'm a little hyper about this show, can you tell?

I think Christine should have ditched them both and gone back to the Opera House to concentrate on her career. I mean, with Carlotta dead, she was the next great soprano! The Phantom was a mentally ill, manipulative sociopath (not to mention a stalker), and Raul was a wimpy, completely whipped pushover. Christine didn't need either of them ;) .

My favorite characters were Andre and Firmin (the theatre managers) - they were a hoot!!

yes, you make good points, but phantom LOVED her soooo much......and i am such a hopeless romantic! I just wanted them to end up together, they could have made beautiful music as a couple!
You hit it right on the head, Raul WAS a whimpy push over! Andre & Firmin were funny too!

my one of my favortie songs has to be the Point of No Return....so powerful!

I've seen this three times. :) Twice in Vancouver and once Toronto. I wanted to watch it when I was in London (as I've only seen it with the Canadian cast) but I didn't have the time :(
I probably know most of the songs already by heart :p I simply can't get tired of this one! :) Simply the best! I've seen Miss Saigon and Jeckle and Hyde but nothing compares to the Phantom of the Opera! :) Although my wife err...fell asleep while watching this as she was really tired from the plane trip. :p
