The youtube from Praeger University is well worth the watch. It notes that the reason for the conflict is quite simple--one side wants the other dead. It is not now, and has never been, about peace. The Israelis have given up land and have repeatedly offered peace, but have repeatedly been attacked instead.

They are doing what they have always done and they will inspire new generations of terrorists, just as they always have. I can only conclude that Israel wants to be hated and poked by her neighbors so that she can play the martyr's role. Hamas is an evil organization that must stop its violent (though typically fruitless) attacks. Israel is an evil country that kills out-of-proportion and sells military secrets and hardware that came from the US to our enemies.

Why do you blame Israel for having superior forces, and for Palestinians hiding behind women and children, like so many terrorists do? If they would just stop, then Israel would stop.

It wasn't Israel who broke the truce. And Israel WARNS the people to leave the area or be shelled when it MUST strike to destroy the tunnels. It is Hamas that hides behind women and children and puts its weapons in hospitals, schools, and mosques. Israel is NOT the aggressor. Hamas is. Israel wants to coexist in peace. Hamas does not.

Did Israel warn the four Palestinian kids playing soccer on the beach that they were about to be shelled? Did it warn them that they were going to fire a second shot at them as they ran for their lives?

Probably did. Israel didn't break any cease fires--Hamas did--so I guess the blame would lie with the parents of the boys for putting them in danger when they KNEW that there were ongoing hostilities.

There is no safe place in Gaza. Many Palestinian children have been killed in their homes by Israeli missiles.

So far, 213 Palestinian civilians have been killed by Israel, including 43 children. 1 Israeli soldier has been killed.

why not ask Hamas to stop it's violence (instead of forbidding planes to fly into Israel or giving aid to Hamas). It seems like such a no-brainer.

That's the real story. Israel has a right to defend, but not a right to murder. They are electing to murder. The people they kill today will inspire attacks 20 years from now.

May I also suggest that the Arab-Muslim neighbors of Israel STOP their "we will kill ALL Israelis" and admit that Israel has a right to exist.

Actually it's 29 Israelis and since you are counting numbers, don't forget to count the thousands of rockets that have been lobbed at Israeli citizens, the terrorist attacks leveled against Israeli citizens, the two wars against Israel since her birth in 1948, and Hama's diabolical murder of the three innocent teen boys coming home from religious study that started this whole thing this time. (One of the boys had U.S. citizenship and yet Obama was strangely silent and now rewards Hamas with extra aid AGAINST our ally, Israel--the only Democratic country in the region. )

BTW Hamas is PURPOSELY using the civilians as human shields. Remember that they are the ones who claim that they will "win" because they love death more than Israel loves life.

If the Israelis have given up land, why do they keep bulldozing Palestinian homes to build more Israeli settlements. As per the claim,"one side wants the other dead", it was pretty clear that former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's attitude was the only good Palestinian was a dead Palestinian.

You are now believing and spreading lies. I have worked in the nuclear power industry and I am familiar with the rockets Hamas has been using. They are not capable of breaching a reactor containment building/vessal.

Iron Dome is a wonderful bit of kit that allows Israel to succesfully warrant rocket strikes impotent, removing the need to immediately launch strikes at attackers who are entrenched among civilians. If only they'd be pro-life and follow through, we'd have some good guys to root for.
