But it is funny, it's a definition of funny. How can a definition of funny not sound like funny?

Funny can be bad! "Tricky and deceitful" is a definition of funny, and you say "tricky and deceitful" is bad, therefore, funny is bad in that context.

I did say nutty!! I only said funny after somebody else said it first, and I was using it in reply to that person... I won't mention who said it first...
