“Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt;

because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord; For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind and hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: And they shall not teach every man his brother, saying, know the Lord: For all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.” Hebrews 8:9-12

“And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh and will give them an heart of flesh: that they may walk in my statutes and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.

But as for them whose heart walketh after the heart of their detestable things and their abominations, I will recompense their way upon their own heads, saith the Lord God.” Ezekiel 11: 19-21

“For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one, much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one Jesus Christ.

Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one, the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.” Romans 5: 17-19

The new covenant of God with mankind is the covenant of grace. That is, the unmerited favor or kindness of God towards mankind, in order to bring them to the inheritance of his kingdom.

God having known and proven that the ordinary man could not and cannot keep his commandments, as entrenched in the old covenant, eventually cancelled the old covenant. And gave us a gracious new one, through the death of his only begotten son Jesus Christ by his divine Love (agape) for mankind (John 3: 16).

In this new covenant, God himself promises anyone who believes on his only begotten son (whom he sent into the world to die for the sins of mankind) that he himself will put his commandment in his/her heart, and cause or help the person to keep his commandments by his Holy Spirit.

And also, as they walk with the help of his Holy Spirit to keep his commandments, if they err, he will be merciful to them.

Hence, in this new covenant, immediately you honestly from your heart, accept Jesus as your Lord and personal savior, you will receive forgiveness of all your sins through the shared blood of Jesus. And instantly, God will give you his righteousness and eternal life as free gift.

And as you submit to this righteousness, you will gain supernatural power or dominion over every form of sin. This submission to the spirit of righteousness given to the person that is born again, is what is called: walking in the Spirit (Galatians 5:16), Walking in the newness of life (Romans 6:4), Being led by the Spirit (Galatians 5:18), Sanctification (1Thessalonians 4: 3) and Holiness.

And as you submit yourself to the direction of the Holy Spirit, if you eventually stumble and sin, God says he will be merciful unto your unrighteousness, that is, he will forgive all your sins. So as you walk with the Spirit of God and eventually err; as you acknowledge your sin and ask for forgiveness, God will definitely forgive you, no matter the magnitude of the sin.

If you’re walking with God in terms of this his new covenant, you’re said to be under grace and not under law (Galatians 5:18).

And the Lord also says, if you’re under grace, which is also called the law of Faith (Romans 3: 27) you will never come under any condemnation, either now or after death or at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 8:1).

With all these said, does grace now give anyone license to sin? The answer is NO! On the contrary, this grace empowers you to keep all the commandments of God. Including the Ten Commandments and much more -- that God will give to you, through his Holy Spirit that is in you (Romans 3:31).

How Then Can I Know Who Is Under Grace?

Anybody can claim to be under grace, but according to our Lord Jesus Christ, we shall know them by their fruits. The Bible says in 1John 3:7 “Little children let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he (Jesus) is Righteous”.

So, if someone is truly under the grace of this new covenant, and is actually submitted to the Spirit or walking in the Spirit, the fruits of the Spirit must be seen in him or her (Galatians 5: 22-23). The person will naturally hate unrighteousness.

While on the other hand, we can know who is not under grace, by the works of the flesh as enumerated in Galatians 5: 19-21. So if you see someone who is manifesting the works of the flesh, and as you try to correct him, he tells you that what he or she is doing doesn’t matter because he /she is under grace, rebuke him and tell him that he is a liar.

Because grace does not celebrate or embrace sin. And according to the scriptures, anyone who indulges in the works of the flesh, in the name of grace or because he is not born again, will not inherit the kingdom of God (Galatians 5:21). And certainly, if he does not inherit the kingdom of God, he will definitely have his part in hell and in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone. There is no two ways about that (Revelations 21: 8). By the works of the law shall no flesh be justified (Romans 3:20); and at the same time, by the works of the flesh shall no man live or inherit the Kingdom of God (Romans 8: 13; Galatians 5:19-21)).

Remain Blessed!

In this new covenant, God himself promises anyone who believes on his only begotten son (whom he sent into the world to die for the sins of mankind) that he himself will put his commandment in his/her heart, and cause or help the person to keep his commandments by his Holy Spirit.

Are you fully aware what you just wrote here emekrus? What is your scripture for this for it would be very helpful to clarify what your saying here? So if He (Himself) can "cause" or "help" a (born-again) believer to KEEP His commandments, then (by knowing this)... how can a born-again believer lose their salvation EVEN if they walk away. Your sharing a pretty good argument here for OSAS whether you realize it or not.

This is correct (if you mean) that when you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, that yes... He will forgive all your sins (all sins is ALL sins) of yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Already a done deal. The sin issue was "forever settled" at the cross.

With all these said, does grace now give anyone license to sin? The answer is NO! On the contrary, this grace empowers you to keep all the commandments of God. Including the Ten Commandments and much more -- that God will give to you, through his Holy Spirit that is in you (Romans 3:31).

So glad you brought this up about, "does grace gives the license to sin? This is a relatively new argument today that's getting old very fast. I know of NO grace teacher that believes or teaches this. This license to sin argument didn't come from (today's) grace teachers, it came from the "critics" of the (fullness) of the grace message that Satan had much success in being watered down over the years. I definitely thank ministers such as Andrew Wommack and others that have taught the fullness of the grace message for years. It was Joseph Prince that played a huge role in the (grace) restoration today, as was with Kenneth Hagin in the (faith) movement.

Also, over the years, we have heard the same "critics" lambaste founders of the faith movement from E. W. Kenyon, Kenneth Hagin, Charles Capps, and others in "restoring" the watered down FAITH message, and today these same "critic" types are attacking the "restoration" of a watered down (grace) message that Satan once again had achieved through his deception.

Why would Satan focus the most on (trying) to discredit or destroy the Grace and Faith message today? He couldn't destroy it but he sure had weakened the effect over the years by deception and its impact to the nations, (until) God raised up the likes of Hagin, Prince and many others to restore what he (Satan) had taken away.

Satan knew that without God's (grace) there is no FAITH. He knew also that without (faith) there is no GRACE. And how are we born-again? I pray that everyone reading this will bow down and praise God for what I believe is one of the most important scripture in God's word and then praise Him for raising up men/women of God for teaching the full message of grace and faith.

Now we know why Satan attempts to destroy "grace through faith." It is the GIFT of God to His people. Something to think about!

Ephesians 2:8
For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Hhodgson, of course under grace, it is the Holy Spirit that helps us keep God's commandments. For the scriptural backing, it is in the book of Philipians 2:13 "For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure".

Righteousness without the Spirit, is self-righteousness and we're are not justified by it.

And as for Joseph Prince's Grace teachings i have some reservations on them.

For instance, he teaches that the doctrines of Jesus before going to the cross where laws.

Its great hearing from again also sir.

And the Lord also says, if you’re under grace, which is also called the law of Faith (Romans 3: 27) you will never come under any condemnation, either now or after death or at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 8:1).

Emeke Odili

According to Titus 2:11-14, our salvation involves being trained by grace to do what God has revealed to be godly, righteous, and good and being trained to renounce doing what God has revealed to be ungodly and sinful, which is essentially what God was instructing the Israelites how to do when He gave them the law. According to John 1:16-17, grace was added upon grace, so the grace of Messiah was added upon the grace of the law. According to Romans 1:5, we have received grace to bring about the obedience of faith, so I think there was plenty of grace in the OT, and at no point does the Bible say that the law was given to prove that we couldn't keep it. According to Deuteronomy 30:11-14 and Romans 10:5-10, what God commanded was not too difficult, so the problem was not that the commands are hard, but that our hearts were hard. According to Hebrews 8:8, God did not find fault with His law or the terms of the covenant, but with the people, as you quoted with Ezekiel 36:26-27, God's plan was to make a New Covenant where he would take away our hearts of stone, give us hearts of flesh, and send His Spirit to cause us to obey His law. We have been given a gift of righteousness and set free from sin in transgression of His law so that we could be free to do what is righteous in accordance with His law and meet its righteous requirement (Romans 8:3-4).

In Galatians 5:16-23, everything that is listed as being works of the flesh that are against the Spirit are also against God's law and everything listed as fruits of the Spirit are also in accordance with God's law, so it doesn't make any sense to interpret Galatians 5:18 as saying that we aren't under God's law if we are led by the Spirit, especially when the Spirit has the role of leading us in obedience to God's law. Rather it is the law of sin that stirs up the works of the flesh that are against the Spirit. Likewise, in Romans 6:14, it is not God's law where sin had dominion over us, but the law of sin. In Romans 7:12-25, Paul said that God's law is holy, righteous, and good, that it was the good he sought to do and he delighted in doing, but contrasted that with a law of sin that stirred up sin and caused him not to do the good that he wanted to do, so it is the law of sin that we are not under when are under grace and it is God's law that is the law of faith (Romans 3:31). God's law was never given as instructions for how to become justified through our own effort, but as instructions for what to do by faith because we have been justified by faith.

He left off the citation, but he was referring to these verses:

Ezekiel 36:26-27 And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.

The Spirit will guide us, but that doesn't meant we are being forced to follow.

Satan knew that without God's (grace) there is no FAITH. He knew also that without (faith) there is no GRACE.

I disagree, God's grace can be offered to anyone, even an unbeliever. That is the definition of Grace, unmerited and without conditions. God's decision not ours.

Hi Dwells... and welcome! I re-read my post and didn't find where I mentioned, or even insinuated that Grace wasn't offered to anyone and everyone. I don't know where your disagreement lies.

It's not that God's Grace "can be" offered, it definitely "IS" offered to "whosoever" desires to... simply believe. There's your only condition, it's not automatic. His Grace is freely given (to us) but not deserved... (by us). It's His decision to give His Grace, but... it's (our) decision to receive it by faith.

You mentioned Faith is a condition to receive grace. IMO that contradicts the meaning of God's grace.

You mentioned Faith is a condition to receive grace. IMO that contradicts the meaning of God's grace.

It is by Grace through faith we are saved. EVERYTHING we receive from God is by His Grace that's appropriated through our faith. God has already provided everything we will ever need... our salvation, healing, deliverance, prosperity, every promise, every blessing, every gift, is received by grace through faith for "without faith it is impossible to please God" (Hebrews 11:6). We must do the works of God (John 6:28).

Most Christians believe that God can do anything, but many of them don’t believe He has done very much for them. They live in a constant state of trying to get God to do something. They are begging God to move through revival, healing, prosperity, etc. They run from meeting to meeting, trying to get something from God. But they’ve already got it but the sad thing is... they don't know it!

The Bible says,

Ephesians 1:3
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ."

It’s not a matter of trying to get God to move in your life; it’s a matter of you moving over into agreement with Him and receiving what He has already provided.

Grace is God’s part. Faith is defined as being a positive response to what God has already provided by Grace. In other words, faith is your positive response to God’s grace, or faith only appropriates what God has already provided for you. Therefore, faith is your part. One cannot work without the other.

Grace and faith work together, and they must be in balance.

Ephesians 2:8-9 says,
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."

Think of it this way... grace is what God does; faith is what we do. It takes both working together to receive salvation and every blessing mentioned above.

As Andrew Wommack would say,"Faith doesn’t move God; He isn’t the one who is stuck." Faith doesn’t make God do anything. Grace and faith work together, and our part is to accept what God has already done by performing the works of God.

The disciples asked, "What must we do to perform the works of God?" Jesus replied, "This is the work of God: to believe in the One He has sent."

By Grace through Faith, "I believe, I receive, when I pray" (Mark 11:24). What God has so wonderfully provided for we receive by grace through faith.

Does this make any better sense?

You can kind of think of it this way. Just as Adam and Eve had the free will to choose to disobey God, we each also have free will and with that freewill God does not make us do anything, because He created us with this free will and He wants us to choose Him. Faith is the way we make that choice, through our believe in Jesus Christ that He is God and was able to die for all the sins of the world on the cross and He shed His blood that we might have everlasting life. He died for us 2,000 years ago and He has His loving hand outstretched to each of us as we make our choice via our free will.

He did it all and that is His grace. That He loved us and the Father so much that He came to die for all of us. God died for you so He could be with you forever in paradise. That is His grace, that only He could have lived a sinless life and He came down from His throne and Glory in heaven just for us.

All He asks of us is that we have faith and belief in Him and that He did what He said He did. That's it. That's His grace, offering us eternity in paradise that only He could have provided because He loves us that much.

Does that make sense?

We are and will never be free of sin, but Jesus offered Himself as the spotless Lamb for us. Christ gives us His righteousness, That is justification, when Christ saves us and declares us righteous by giving us His righteousness. That's why God's Word says "and if we sin, we have an Advocate, Jesus Christ. Because when the Father looks at us, He see's His Son's righteousness with whom He is well pleased.

1 John 2:1-2

1 My little children, I am writing these things to you so thatyou will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate before the Father — Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. 2 He Himself is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not for ours alone, but also for the sins of the whole world.

1 Corinthians 5:21
21 God made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.

Romans 3:21-23

21 But now, apart from the Law, the righteousness of God has been revealed, as attested by the Law and the Prophets. 22 And this righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no distinction, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God

I believe faith makes grace conditional, and God could save an atheist(unbeliever) through grace if He wanted to.

It will always come down to the choices we make. No forcing at all for now we (want) to please Him. The old man has died and we were given the new nature of God in our born-again spirit. The good news is that we are NO longer are led by sin, but by the Holy Spirit. I like what this verse in Philippians that says He (gives) you the "desire and the "power...

“For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power (to do what pleases Him)” (Philippians 2:13).

Also this...

“Since we live by the Spirit, let us walk in step with the Spirit” (Galatians 5:25).

You can trust your new self, because it is in Christ and Christ in you as we daily walk in His steps.

And this...

“For I know the plans I have for you," says the LORD. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

If you’ve ever prayed from your new heart (spirit) for something to come to pass or to manifest in your life, it’s because it is His plan for you. Don’t ever down play your dreams and desires. They sometimes may seem impossible, but the impossible is God’s specialty.

So, trust your new identity. Trust your new heart and mind. Trust your desires… Because your desires aren’t really your desires… They’re actually His desires for you.

You Are Blessed to be a BLESSING...

Romans: 14. 7. For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. 8. For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's. 9. For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living. 10. But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. 11. For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. 12. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. 13. Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way. 14. I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.

And I suppose that would give us no reason for Christ ,unless a person would believe his blood was not needed for salvation.

So did Christ just die for the sins of the faithful or for everyone?

Do you believe in limited or unlimited atonement?

It's not a limited or unlimited atonement issue.

The Bible says in more than 45 places that 'by faith', 'in faith'. That has always been the criteria for salvation.

Atonement is not the issue. Whether we need to come to Christ in faith is.

The statement God could save a Atheist by grace alone without faith in Christ ,would make the Atonement of God in Christ unnecessary.
Even in the Old Testament Faith in God was a nessissity.
Look at Rahab and the Crimson Cord.

In The New Testament we are taught the importance of faith, here is a passage from Hebrews 11.

Hebrews: 11. 3. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. 4. By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. 5. By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. 6. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Does the Atheist seek God?
Does the Atheist have Faith in God even existing?
Can the Atheist please God?

Acts: 10. 34. Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons.

Romans: 2. 11. For there is no respect of persons with God.

How do we know God's will?
By reading God's Word.
If a person would assume God would change from his Word ,this is considered to be the doctrine of divine command theory.
This doctrine was promoted by Augustine of Hippo and John Calvin.
So to answer you question I do not believe in irresistible grace nor am I a Calvinist.
