A couple of questions....

Is it possible for a Christian to discuss the nature (disposition) of Christ without using the Bible?

Is it possible to know the nature (disposition) of Christ without reading the Bible?

Well, we can know many things about the nature of God from creation.  Romans 1 speaks of that topic specifically.  It speaks of how the things of God are clearly seen through His creation and He has revealed Himself, even unto a revealing of the Godhead.  We can see many attributes of God in regular life: Mercy, justice, forgiveness, His sovereign control of the universe, His divine nature through the creation itself, and many more things.

Hope this helps,

God bless

the Bible is the Living Word of God, and is taught through the Holy Spirit. If your consider studying; however, I say you must have the Bible. If yoru seeking direction from the Holy Spirit, pray. I would test everything I learn through prayer and reading God's word

Thanks for your responses. This was something I saw on another forum and found very interesting. A person (non-Christian) claimed a "true Christian" could know the nature of Christ and discuss it without making reference to the Bible. The first question struck a cord with me, in that, how DOES a person discuss the nature of Christ without referring to the Bible to support their claim?

Thanks again for the responses.

The Bible says to study to shew thy self approved, so that we can rightly divide and handle the word of God.  So I would have to say yes that we can discuss the nature of christ without having a Bible on hand.

Of course, you maybe asking if we are capable of talking about the nature of Christ if we have never read the Bible.  Well, yes, we can discuss what maybe we have heard from others.  Romans says that the law is written on the hearts of man.  That law of course being from God, we can know about Christ because he is author of the law written in our hearts....

Is it possible to know the nature (disposition) of Christ without reading the Bible?

Yes as the earlier poster said, and I will quote "for since the creation of the world God's invisible QUALITIES - His eternal power and divine nature - have been clearley seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.

Even nature crys out, points too, and validates God.

We can do a guess work by looking at creation, just as Reformationist said. But we will probaly get wrong, because we are sinful creatures who cannot understand a Holy God.

I see no evidence that the Bible is a divinely inspired record outside of its own claims. I see no historical evidence outside the Bible for anything other than the fact that Jesus was a Jewish reformer persecuted for his beliefs.

Who, other than Christian authors, write of Christian history?
