We keep our hearts away from the worldly lusts, contentions and pride. We keep our eyes away from worthless things as David prayed for. We think about what is true, good and lovely, as Paul said. We are not anxious for the concerns of this life as Jesus and Paul both teach.
We instead pray for all things, and we don't complain, and we are thankful for our daily bread. Thats faith in Jesus and his word. Politicians are not guiding us on that narrow path but on a whole different path. Politics is a wide and easy road traveled by many. It's easy to hate, lust, worry, covet, complain, argue and fear over worldly concerns. That's the wide and easy road that the ungodly take. Faith, love, and hope are not so wide.
