My name is Miriam and I picked it myself!! I was called Ruth when I was born and when I was about 7 or 8 I decided I didn't like that, had a look through the Bible and came across Miriam. She sang, danced and played the tambourine, my kind of woman So I changed my name to Miriam, I've changed it legally now as well. The really weird thing though is that when I was born, my parents nearly called me Miriam but decided on Ruth, and I had no idea about that until after I'd changed it! So at least they like the name
