Philothei if you are so convinced that this fire is Holy fire would you be willing to go their, and Hold (not wave) you hand over it for the full time that it is "Holy" ?
If you receive no burns That would be an awesome testimony.

How can you hold fire over your beard and not getting burned? This fella in the video does not wave ...fire he brings if back and forth many times..... I cannot do that to my had not with the speed he does... and not getting burned.

The Greek gods certainly were known for miracles, just like every other god man ever invented. The Oracle at Delphi in greece was consulted for centuries. She was consulted before any major undertaking by kings and statesmen. Wars were even dependent on what she said. The god Apollo spoke through the priestess ("The Pythia). Was this not a miracle? Where the Greeks idiots? Yes or No?

I never claimed that the people who attended these services were fakes or were liars. They are like you and Philothei... they see what they want to see. The fire is real fire, but there is nothing holy about it. The fact that it is repeated every year in a big ceremony mearly reinforces the believe that they are participating in a miracle.

Their "oracle" telling did not last for 2,000 years either and yes as far as believing that they were idiots... they were believing a false God
The machinations of the ancient world through the Delphi (even today we know that there is evidence it was a political entity than religious...with cryptic catacombs etc) have anything to do with a repetitious miracles that takes place a certain time every year for 2,000 years?? I think not...

Participating in a miracle who they are witnessing....while the rest deny to participate thus deny it exists... It is easier than dealing with the miracle itself...

Oh we've got a explaination. in case you missed the past eight pages or so it went like this..

"Everything in that vid can be done with regular fire, im doing it right now"

like i said its about as much of a miracle as dropping a stone. There is so far nothing that would sugjest the fire is not behaving like a normal fire.

Now dont missunderstand i realize you need to believe this and thus will not even allow yourself to think of it in any rational way. This is why its been around for so long. People dont think rationaly about it. they go there for a miracle and anything will do.

when you see it with your own eyes then "thinking" is what you do and you cannot explain it ... any other way. All these billions of Orthoox Chrisians then according to you for 2,000 years have been "unthinkers" and yet Russians have been proved to be extaordinary scientists and yet extraordinary believers too You try to figure it out....

I am not saying they dont think at all. Im just saying they are not going to let logic seep into the godbox in their mind. You see it all the time its how people deal with reality while believing in god.

Its funny how you just cannot allow yourself to accept how fire works and can only respond with "no way that would burn me!" if you believe passing your hand through a flame would burn you and there for dont try it. But do it at easter because of 'holy fire' and see it doesnt burn you its a miracle. Even though you never even tried doing the exact same thing normally.

What are "the religious" ?

It is not only the property of this flame which is noted, but that unlit oil lamps and the candles of some of the faithful spontaneously ignite, that a blue 'light' is seen swooping around the Church that is associated with the spontaneous lightings.

Is it any less 'miraculous' to believe that matter is eternal, or that matter came to be as the universe from some unknown precedent matter or no matter at all ?

What does it do to you as atheist if people believe in this miracle? I do not see how this is harmful to the rest of the pupulation... It has been observed and challenged by "atheists" since 1100 since it has been recorded... If the testimony is not enough for all these billions of believers then eyewintess should not be taken into oath and have it as
"evidence" in our court system since you do not think it is valid then

Funny enough eye witnesses arent enough for a courtcase. The least reliable thing in a courtsystem is the eye witness.

If it really is a miracle then why has noone proven that it is one? Claims of cold fire should be so easy to verify scientifically yet noone has bothered too? You would think that scientists of the faith would have jumped for joy with this oppertunity to scienticically show that their faith had a genuine miracle to its name.

The very fact this has not happend shows we dont have to take it any more seriously then alien abduction. Which by the way is believed in just as strongly and has evidence just as convincing.

So it has been challenged has it? That does not mean it has been tested. Most likely because nobody is allowed to test it. Again why do we not see these tests all over the news? Where are orthodox scientists holding their hand still above the flame for the full duration? None of this exists because it is not a miracle.
