CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Might as well not ask, HiddenWitness. I already asked Yamialpha and he refused and I doubt that he will respond positively to us nagging him about it.
On a brighter note, it is nice to see more members being active in the Lounge.

Ironic. I started this thread so there could be large, communal conversations. And yet, almost 600 posts and nearly a year in, it has largely been composed of one-on-one conversations between two individuals. It has sat idle for long periods of time, to the point that this thread was even declared dead once at least. Still...I find joy in knowing that all the members of this place will always be welcome here, no matter how far we seperate.

I had alot of fun. And my roommate is having a fit b/c I brought home a hamster cage. But, there's no hamster in it. We're going to try to get a couple tommarow. But, Ali and I don't know how to get there. So I need to find a map of Columbia. Does anyone know where I can find city maps?

Umm...don't they sell city maps and stuff at Wal-Mart? I thught I saw something like them when my mom and I were up by the Customer Service Booth thing once...

Okay, that's good.
Wow, I just got back from play practice. I forgot that plays are really long when you're actually going to be acting them out. This one has a lot more monologue (for my part, at least) than my 7th grade play. It's gonna be interesting to see how this turns out in a couple months...
