  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Exit, There is a lot I like about poly. One of the things that they talk about is how much communication is needed for poly to work. So I was curious if this poly woman was good at communicating.

I know that is one thing I need to work on.

Yes,she is good at communicating. Before the cruise,she texted me,asking me what size gloves do I wear. I told her "LARGE",of course. :)

Just as mono means "one",and gamos means"marrige". Monogamy means being married to only one spouse.

Poly means "many" or more than one. Therefore,a polygamist has more than one spouse.

As a side note. Poly means many. A tick is a blood sucking animal.
Therefore,"politics" COULD mean "many blood sucking animals" :)

So,I do not know WHY I seem to turn MARRIED women on,but NOT single women on.

I find most poly people use poly as short for polyamous. Refering to many loves. There are many ways poly relationships are defined today. A triad, for example is either a male and two females or a female and two males. Often a couple it married legally and the other is not married to either as that would be illegal. Yet there is a commitment made at some level that they all understand. Just as people live together today, polyamous people may not be married.

Welcome to CF cweintein. We have a great group here that accept each other even when we discuss issues we don't always agree on.

I find my single status has me in a learning mode. I mode where I choose to put myself out there. Each time around I look to be more authentic to who God created me to be. I've found that isn't who I thought I'd be and even more so isn't who the church tried to old me into. Then I have to express myself in love and not in my life says to the other person you have to be this way to be close to me.

FUN times, as I so love when Jesus works in my life.

Well, Michelle, I find only a few people are up with what is happening in the modern day poly movement. Most people can only conceive of the examples put forth on the news about the few evil Mormons. Even most Mormons aren' treating their women as bad as those examples. But the modern secular poly movement is no patriarchal at all. Just as our society gives the same rights to men and women, so does the modern poly movement.
