Tragic! :( ~ you mean, you 2 are *married *, but
one spends LIFE... in front of the TV?, while
one spends LIFE... in front of the puter?

What-all do you *both ... Enjoy..:yum:. together...*??

well my husband has been not healthy for way too many years now. he had a kidney transplant in 1986 when he was 35 years old. and his life has gone down hill since. depression, cryptococco menengitis, shingles in the ear which then caused hearing loss and a chronic infection in the mastoid bone. for at least 5 years in a row he had fevers and chills ( going from freezing to boiling , this usually happened during the night when he was in bed. severve pains from cysts on his old kidney that would pop and cause pain like gallbladder attack( he has no gallbladder so we know that was not the cause) let me see ah then there was the small heart attack and the many mini strokes he has had. then there was the cmv virus he had for quite a few years too, now it is the leg problems (neuropathy) which is probably due from the steroids he takes.
well I could go on and on but I think you get the idea I have a husband that is depressed and enjoys tv ,because it is his outlet.
we use to roller skate with our kids when they were young. we had friends to do things with and we always went shopping and out to eat on weekends , took vacations. this was all before the transplant.
not complaining just thankful the Lord has giving us 20 more years and maybe more.
oh and I forgot to mention he sleeps 3/4 of the day and still sleeps at night.

oh thank you so much we do need alot of prayers. being a caregiver is not the best job in the world . there are more problems he has too but it all gets so over whelming sometimes .I take it for granted like it is okay. thanks again. ( It sad to have to keep checking to see if he is breathing)

Aww Jojo I will pray for you and your BH. It's so hard to live a quality life with those things hanging over his head. I know he probably doesn't want sympathy but my heart goes out to people in dibilitating illnesses. Go with God.

I know it's really hard to be a caregiver especially to a family member. The summer before last my brother and sister and I took care of our Dad. I used to work for a caregiver group called "homemakers". We would go in and do what ever or just sit with loved one so the main caregiver could just go for a walk or just to get out. Do you have anything like that in your area?
Praying for you and your,

Yes,
very :( sad. And while occasionally, a transplanted-organ does give people Longevity...& greater life-quality, more people than not, after such procedures don't get the life-*quality* they'd hoped for; and grow increasingly depressed.

(Edited) ~ From here, all I can do for both of you, is :prayer: pray...

My very best friend does this...it is a real ministry to people who would be forgotten. She has the most cheerful and uplifting spirit too.

well I hope I did not confuse anyone, he is able to get around , he does drive some, that I am concerned about though. he uses a cane and has a rollamator walker which he does not use after he had to have one. we do need to get a four prong cane . he has been going to physical therapy for his legs. He does not think it helps and is worn out for two days after and won't go back until he talks to his DR. in Oct.
most of the sleeping is nothing unsual for him . it is a depression thing and he gets very tired. is balance is very bad . staggers like a drunk .He does have a little memory loss and tells me it is me with the problem . hmm!!!
well anyway I do work 5 to 6 days a week 5 to 6 hours a day. what I am saying is he can do for himself . he is just slow and depressed ,I guess that is what I want to say. I am not complaining . the devil could have taken him many times but God is protection him. amen to that.

We will still be praying for you and yours. Isn't it funny how we tend to blame others for our weaknesses good thing you're there so he can say it's all you!! My Dad used to say that to us just ignore it and love them anyway. We know you're not complaining but so what if you did,you have to let it out some place, and who are we going to tell?
Bless You (hang in there the Lord will honor you)

Hi JOJO :),

As a nurse for 35+ yrs. I was able to (kinda accurately read between the lines, as it were). And
I feel for you *both*, in ways you dear Sister would understand.

My Sweetie tho has one thing going FOR him :).
He's on his way to conquering (his 7 relatedly-worse challenges), no matter what!!
He's got this attitude of "Failure is not an option, and I will Succeed, and we will *share the ICE together*.
This (plus 3 other significant goals) is undeniably motivationally compelling him forward...

So, one of the things you may wanna explore, more of :
is
having your DH 1. *Imagine what king of FUTURE  he would like to share with you, and
(Now, this ain't just some silly 'yah, that stuff don't work' - exercise.) Aux contraire! ~
This exercise *Done right* has the potential of helping him create Better-realities... for himself :p, and for the both of you , and for whoever else you both want... to inspire

How do I know? JOJO ;) ~ because we've taught dozens of people *how*

Such great courage to be able to live out those marriage vows... "In sickness and in health...till death do us part"... I thank God that I responded to the graces HE gave me when my DH became ill and died of cancer some 15 years ago... I was not a strong person...In Him I was... Praise God!
for what it's worth I go by this..."If He brings you to it...He'll bring you through it.":amen:

Hi, I wish there was a lonely forum on the board, so I thought I'd start a thread. Not to be depressing but just to share. lol

I'm 51 home all the time on disability and it gets pretty lonely. Not many people to call on the phone, know only a few in the area. Sleep a lot. That sort of thing.

I hang out at CF most of the time. Otherwise I'm on biblegateway.com. I don't have hobbies, and the tv is boring. lol so anyway, that's my contributon to the lonely club.;) Oh and someone here made that beautiful butterfly for me. What talent.

 Hi there. I think a lonely club is a great idea. I know we are never alone but we do get lonely.
I too am homebound because i have Advanced Fibromyalgia which is so so painful. I also have CFS. I am married to my hubby for 21 yrs. I love him dearly. He is my caretaker.
I take a lot of meds. for the pain and i cant drive anymore. I have met a lot of christian friends through email and in some chat rooms.
I love to do PSP which i have just learned.
I am 58 yrs. old/mom/grandma/dog lover.
I have a female german shepard who is my protector when hubby is gone. I also have a half border collie/bluehealer named Jake. He is a sweetheart. My shepards name is Lady Willow. I have spoiled them both with love.
I need to go and help a friend to find this new club. It is her first time on CF.
Hugs,
