The Life of a Musician

Katie cleared her throat.
"Okay, so what happens when we start to get really good? Should we start saving money for a recording studio to make a cd? Or do we want to start with singing at weddings, or school events or something?"

 

[DudeForChrist]

"Gigs are better, but we also should save money. I believe a combination of the two is necessary," said Nate. "Yeah, and maybe when we are doing a gig, some recorder dude that works at a studio will be there, and then we won't HAVe to buy our way in , " said Buzz. "Right now we should concentrate on songs, though. Without them, we are just a bunch of crazy kids without any rhthym or words." said Nate. Buzz and Katie nodded.

"Very good point." Katie said. "My mom does alot of youth events with the young people at the middle-school where she works. I could ask her if we could play at one of them. I'm sure she'll say yes."

 

[DudeForChrist]

"We need at least 4-5 songs to start with, so our audience doesn't get bored and say, "That's it?!?!?!""said Buzz. "We've got one, about...3-4 more to go."

Katie smiled.
"Better get writin' Buzz." she said, nudgin Buzz's arm.

"Okay, okay. No rest for the intelligent, I guess.....OW!!!" Katie had nudged him in the ribs, hard.

"Sorry!" Katie said. "Didn't mean for that to hurt." she said, apologetically.
"But it did." Buzz said with a groan.
Katie shrugged.
"You'll toughen up." she said jokingly.
"Hey, anyone up for a game of basketball?" she asked, standing to her feet.

"Sure," said Nate. "Another time, gotta go," said Buzz. "Okay," said Katie, running to her room to get her ball. As Nate was following her, she stopped him at the entrance. "No boys allowed!" she said, giggling. "Alright then, wouldn't wanna see anything...unnatural." joked Nate.

Katie grabbed her ball and ran outside to the backyard.
"Okay, first one t get fifty points, wins." she said, tossing him the ball.

"Okay," said Nate, making a 3-point shot. "HEY!!!!" said Katie. "That wasn't fair! I didn't even say go yet..."

Katie grabbed the ball away from him, and made a 3-point shot. She smiled.
"Okay, NOW we go to fifty. GO!" she yelled, making a two-pointer.

Buzz lay down on his bed. What a day!!! he thought. Soon, exhausted from all the excitement, he fell asleep.

Jake Jackson sat in his bedroom playing his keyboard to his favorite Jazz song. Jazz was his favorite, but He could play any type of music, even gospel, he would sadly admit. He had heard about a Band starting up from his friend Nate. He would head over to the shed tomorrow to see if he could join.

Jake loaded his keyboard in his car and drove to the shed.

Katie looked out her window and saw someone drive up. She recognized him from school, even though she'd never met him before. She went to the door and opened it as he walked up the stairs to the porch.
"Can I help you?" she asked.

 

[TheDerek]

"Yeah, I'm Nate's friend and I play the key board," Jake said, "And I was wondering if I could join the band I've heard about."

 

[CJF]

Katie smiled and cocked her head.
"Well, you've come to the wrong place. You need to ask either Buzz or Andi. They're the ones who've put this whole thing together. If I had the choice I'd say 'yes', but that's up to them."
Katie paused.
"Buzz lived just down the road. You might go ask him?"

"Gothca." Jake said and went to his car and drove to buzz's house.
