This brings up a point. What do you mean when you say "harder"? Whenever somebody says they want a game to be harder, I always thought they meant harder puzzles to figure out. I would have to say the original Zelda game was pretty hard (though it's been forever since I've played it)! If you equivalating hardness with life, I guess that you mean hardness is determined by how difficult it is to kill your enemies? On that scale, the Myst games would be a piece of cake! :D
Not at all. Example:

Link enter a dungeon. It's too dark to see, so you equip a torch and some liquid fire in a bottle and use them at the same time. A small light radius flares up and a rusty switch is seen off to the side. You pull it, and while you wait for a musical/cinematic response a massive block falls straight down onto link.

Dangerous puzzles! How novel.

"Will the next installment return to graphics like we saw in the N64 games (but obviously better)?
I was not a great fan of the cel-shading for Wind Waker..."

Well i think the cel-shading on Wind Waker was cool all the Zelda games befor it were bad graphics so y dont you like it it was a good game not that long but a good game.

Poor Link (though I don't mind the idea)! I hope that's not where you want all your blood. Eew...

They were bad graphics compared to today's standards. You cannoy honestly say that you thought Ocarina of Time's graphics were bad! Cel-Shading just made it look too... cartoony. It removed some of the "seriousness" element of the game, which I think is essential to a Zelda game.
It used to be, "You're on a quest to save the princess/world/defeat Ganon." Despite the fact that I did like Wind Waker, it just struck me as a, "You're not really on a quest, but here's some things for you to do while you sail around." There was no sense of urgency.

lol! Actually when I was writing that I pictured Link flashing red and... well, think Ocarina of time, link in lava.

P.S. Animated blood was mearly a suggestion.

Greetings :).

Here is the place to discuss it all, from the roots to the present, all the systems TLOZ crossed.

Currently I am playing through two Zelda games, Ocarina of Time: Master Quest and Wind Waker. My first Zelda game was on the snes, a Link to the past, and then the original ocarina of time on the N64, I played through majora's mask and finally am onto the two newer games, waiting anxiously for the next installment. I would be exceedingly happy if the next game carries a "T" rating--which would be a first for the series, if I am not mistaken. Who's with me?
i agree. but if it was rated T they would have to change the game and game play from the origanal- clasic, i might add- version.

PS: HOW DID YOU GET SOMANY BLESSINGS?! unless its a job, i know of no other way...
please PM me the answer!

I don't mind what graphics Zelda games have. I loved OoT for what it was, and I loved Windwaker for what it was. What kind of helps with all the different Zelda games is not to compare one with another. Seems like people compare everything with Ocarina of Time, or Link to the Past.

I can honestly say there is no Zelda game I don't think is a good game on its own merits. However, my least favorite is probably Zelda II. It's still well done, though it's not my cup of tea as far as styling.

Just a random thought on graphics...

I personally loved the graphics of Wind Waker. It was so much clearer and vibrant than anything I've ever seen on more realistic animated videogames. From the trailer for the new game, I can tell that even though the animation is going to be awesome, it's not going to be as clear and vibrant as Wind Waker. So... that's my thought.

I thought Wind Waker was brilliant, if for nothing else, then just the change of pace it offered in the series. I loved the feeling of sailing around a world that had been destroyed, knowing that I was sailing over land I once travelled in Ocarina of Time. The moment where you enter you know where and time is frozen was amazing, and the resulting event - just awesome. The graphics were so clean, crisp and bright - they were really amazing.

That being said though, I don't want Zelda to go in that direction permanently. I love the video and screenshots I've seen of the new Zelda for Gamecube with the adult look and especially the screen of him facing off against and entire horde of advancing monsters and the video of him fight off moblins while riding a horse.
