The problem MOST who are critics of the LDS church run into that quote from the JofD is that they equate it as a source for official LDS doctrine.
I don't know.Will there ever be a time when such "teachings" are "official doctrine"?
But to reiterate what I've already said when the talks are based upon our foundations sources, the standard works, it would seem then that they are doctrine for the church, but the JofD is NOT the source of the doctrine.
Couldn't tell ya.Is this something the LDS organization is trying to understand at the present time?
Many LDS members study the JofD, but with 26 volumes its a daunting task.
