LOVE one another
For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 1 Thessalonians 5:3
Safety and peace is the new slogan for the Obama administration's Middle East peace drive.
This has been the cry from past Presidents for at least the past 50 years.
It is the Peace and Safety of the United States that is in great jeopardy. Teetering on the edge of the abyss, all too blind to the cataclysmic fall that lies before the tips of her feet. She is too arrogant to acknowledge the merciful and gracious warnings from upon HIGH.
According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage each other with these words. Now, brothers, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, "Peace and safety," destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. But you, brothers, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief. You are all sons of the light and sons of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be alert and self-controlled. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night. But since we belong to the day, let us be self-controlled, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet. For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. ( I Thessalonians 4:15-5:9 NIV)
Compare these words of Paul with the words of Jesus, as recorded in Luke 21:34-36,
Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with dissipation, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you unexpectedly like a trap. For it will come upon all those who live on the face of the whole earth. Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.
Paul referred to the Day of the Lord as a day that would come "like a thief in the night" and "suddenly" with great destruction. Jesus warned about "that day," and predicted that those who were not aware would be surprised by it, and it would "close on you unexpectedly like a trap." The similarities are obvious, and Jesus and Paul are speaking on the very same subject.
The Bible emphatically says that the peace and safety "CRY" is all that it is -- a cry for peace and safety. It didn't say they were going to HAVE peace and safety, but that they DESIRE peace and safety. In fact, as they cry for a period of peace and safety, they are going to end up with sudden destruction. This demonstrates what Yahweh thinks of their desire for such a state. He makes it very clear when He says in Isa. 48:22 and 57:21 "there is no peace saith Yahweh unto the wicked." We feel that this categorical statement made in two places in Isaiah clearly and emphatically indicates that Yahweh will not let the wicked have peace. He further says as a lead into Isa. 57:21, that He is the provider of peace, but the wicked are like a troubled sea that cannot rest.
"But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt. There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked." (Isa. 57:20-21, KJV).
I find it very peculiar that in spite of our so-called “one nation under God” statement, our actions speak louder then our words.
American arms manufacturers have two major channels through which they can sell major weaponry to foreign countries: foreign military sales ("FMS"), in which a government-to-government agreement is negotiated by the Pentagon; and direct commercial sales ("DCS"), in which industry negotiates directly with the purchasing country and must apply for a license from the State Department.
The United States government also transfers arms to other countries by giving away weapons from U.S.military stocks for free or at greatly reduced prices, classified as excess defense articles (EDA) or emergency "drawdowns." The United States also provides military training to many foreign countries. These transfers are also managed by the Defense Department. For more information about types of U.S.arms transfers, read the "Ways and Means" chapter of The Arms Trade Revealed.
