As to your comment in regard to Trump supporters, I would guess that a higher percentage of Trump supporters value black lives and all lives more than Biden supporters.Whatver it is, when I say "Black Lives Matter" I mean just that: that black lives do matter.
How was his life in danger? He could have just let him get away. Lyons had no weapon. It was certainly justified. When you are struggling with a individual and your life is in danger, and it was when Lyoya grabbed the taser, you are completely justified in shooting. Contrast that with the shooting of Ashley Babbitt at the Capitol, where the officer's life was not in danger and he shot and killed an unarmed woman from a distance. That was not justified. It is unfortunate that Lyoya went for the officer's weapon.
Lyons went for the police officer's weapon, they struggled for about a minute and a half. Lyons refused to release the weapon. How was his life in danger? He could have just let him get away. Lyons had no weapon.
Yes, not given a medal from Nancy Pelosi. The Ashley Babbitt murder is haunting.Cops always think their lives are in danger because they're indoctrinated with the belief that everyone is always out to get them. That's not a joke or exaggeration. Yet CNBC's list here does not even list 'police officer' as one of the most dangerous jobs:
https://www.cnbc.com/2019/12/27/the-10-most-dangerous-jobs-in-america-according-to-bls-data.html
Now, to be slightly fair (not that the police necessarily deserve it), some lists do include police officer, but they seem to consistently rank lower in the list than loggers, construction workers and the like.
When a cop kills a person in cold blood - doesn't matter who it is - they need to be held accountable for their actions.

I didn't see anything the officer did wrong, but I could have missed something. It was a very dangerous situation for the officer, one individual refuses to comply and the officer has to worry about potential people in the vehicle. This is a very sad incident and one that could have been prevented if the Officer had enough training and experience, it is hard to believe he is a 'veteran'.
So it is - so it was!How was his life in danger? He could have just let him get away. Lyons had no weapon.

I have posted before that if pulled over by a police officer don't make any sudden moves and obey the officer's commands. Don't run and don't go for an officer's weapon. Lyoya did everything wrong, I think the media should emphasize that information instead of pushing the systemic racism and police brutality line--it could have saved Lyoya and many others. So it is - so it was!
Now there is no Patrick Lyoya any more.

The Killing of Patrick Lyoya - what do you think of it?
Killing of Patrick Lyoya - Wikipedia
That's Wikipedia for you, a strong left bent. What makes it a bad shooting or a valid shooting is what happens at the time of the shooting. If someone has their hand on your weapon and they won't let go, in this case they also were yelled at to release their grip, then a shooting is justified. If you have someone subdued or you are not been attacked or they are not attacking someone else then it is a bad shooting. So if this cop had the suspect completely subdued it is a bad shooting, struggling for the weapon it is a valid shooting. Tragically, Lyoya did not obey orders, resisted arrest, ran, fought the officer and struggled for the officer's weapon. Whoever else was in the car should have yelled at Lyoya to let go of the weapon and comply. The procedures for the police have been in place for decades. This officer was alone, he could have been shot by the other person in the car yet he tried to use his taser and was able to fire it twice. In such a situation you must secure the area to protect yourself and other citizens. If you are disarmed you likely will end up dead. Bradley police officer pleaded for her life before man shot her to death with her own gun: prosecutors"If a person sits down and shuts their mouth,
the odds of being shot in the head drop
in direct proportion to the effort made."

The dead are not insulted. And they are my top concern.Do you want to add insult to injury - i.e. death?
I am really shocked.
