  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

This is basically a question I had more for those inclined towards the evangelism, such as what Jonah was commanded to preach. I was wondering if anyone ever felt a similar calling by God to preach in a major city area or where many people could hear. And basically would be the "repent or perish" kind of message or that judgement is coming soon. My own inclination would be to proclaim that the ANTI-CHRIST is coming FIRST,to lead astray the masses into the one world religious system. And I feel a strong inner call to warn others in some way of this impending major event, which will occur well before any rapture or tribulation.
Of course Jonah was more of an example of what NOT to do when you hear God's call, since the city of Nineveh eventually backslid into there old ways and were destroyed. But I do feel it was also an example of a legitimate ministry call and a very serious one at that. But most Christians nowadays seem focused only on the salvation message and leave the judgement part in the Bible, and the book of Revelation.
Anyway just curious if anyone else was thinking along these lines.

As a child of God, I probably don't evangelize as much as i should. That being said, I try to spread the gospel by sharing a spirit of self sacrifice and genuine love in Jesus' name (because God is love 1 John 5:8). I don't know what God is calling you to do and i pray he does makes it clear. At the same time, I would like to suggest from experience that sharing "Revelation" and other end time prophecy to someone, who doesn't know Christ or see a need for a savior, may confuse them or even discourage them... Just my thoughts.

I find a lot of the prophets, like Jonah in the Old Testament, were a little reluctant to deliver some messages from God.
But when Jesus came I found He concentrated mainly on one theme.
The gospel of the Kingdom of God - Mark 1:14, Luke 8:1
From the very beginning of His ministry He focused on the Kingdom of God.
Jesus commanded His followers to preach the Kingdom of God -Luke 9:1-2
He told the apostles to go into the world and preach the gospel to
every creature -Mark 16:15
According to Peter the reason for our calling is to gain entrance into the
kingdom of God - 2 Peter 1:10-11
Jesus, Himself, said our goal should be to seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness.... Matthew 6:33
The preaching of the Kingdom of God was a major thesis in Paul's teachings-
Acts 19:8

We are called to join the Kingdom of God but our membership has a lot of requirements.
