I was very interested to read the words: "I'm feeling weak". I immediately thought, 'Whoo-hooooo!' - cos that's exactly where we all gotta be!!

What did God say to Paul: "Listen my son, please relax about your weakness - cos MY strength and MY power, they are made perfect in YOUR weakness, okay - they are effective, and that's exactly how they will work!"

Here's the verse with my emphases:

Wow, now we see that after God spoke, Paul is pleased as punch with his weaknesses and infirmities! Surely he's gotta be kidding!!! - nope, not at all. Speaking personally, I'm a quite strong and able person. Hey, trust me, I can do it. I CAN!... Some will instantly recognise how much THAT held up my spiritual growth!! *grrrr!*

I've learned that I have to be weak (as to what I can do and be) - cos that's the only way I am EVER gonna get HIS strength and power workin' in me! Yes, I know, this IS exactly the opposite to what the world teaches us. We've learned its message and we've learned it good. But for Believers it's 100% wrong! So let's all make a determined effort NOT to conform to the world in this crucial matter (or any other!)

And man, do I ever want that power that He supplies to us by His Holy Spirit!!! *the answer is

* So... I just gotta be weak - i.e., NOT going round all the time trying to crank up MY strength and abilities so that I can manage to do this or that (and have you noticed how all the time we may well be living in fear that we won't manage!) FACT: this just don't work, nope!!! Learn to be weak; learn to rely on, lean on, totally trust in... His power.

So then, when it looks like you are strong - hey, it ain't you! It's God! Can you handle that? I sure can. (Think I better say a 'works for ME!' *hahah*)

"Lord, I ask for the blessing of weakness for us all - so that Your strength can be perfected in our weakness!"

This thread goes too fast and I can't possibly read every post anymore. Just skim it now ! I didn't even know I was on the SECOND THREAD!
Here's a suggestion. You can't change the name.You would have to start a new thread for that but people may be looking for THIS name. What I do when I get to a second thread is I go back to the FIRST one FIRST post, COPY/PASTE it on the First post of this SECOND thread. (if I want it to be the same. - OR I revise it a bit or completely if you want it to be different now.)

I don't know if people kindly left it for me to do the last post before our first split, and thus the first in the new... what do we call it?... new section? (someone will be able to tell me, hehe). Means I'll be able to Edit #1 here to give info. to new people, so that's really GREAT!

I was praying this afternoon before I opened my Bible a habit that I am trying to get into. Anyway I asked God please show me what you want me to read and then I just opened the Bible. I was amazed at what I was reading! It was Habakkuk and at first it was depressing I was reading this man's plea to God to aid him and help him and stop all the violence and all the pain. But I kept reading. I read the pleas and I read God's response but it was the very last thing that I read that spoke to my heart God's promise and Habakkuk's conviction that God will be there for him through the most trying of times....

Habakkuk 3:17-19:

17 Even though the fig trees have no blossoms,
and there are no grapes on the vines;
even though the olive crop fails,
and the fields lie empty and barren;
even though the flocks die in the fields,
and the cattle barns are empty,
18 yet I will rejoice in the Lord!
I will be joyful in the God of my salvation!
19 The Sovereign Lord is my strength!
He makes me as surefooted as a deer,
able to tread upon the heights.

Heavenly Father.. Almighty God.. Creator of the Universe.. Holy, Worthy & True..

I lift up my sister, foreveramanda to You loving arms.. allow her to find peace as You lift her up to seat her on Your lap.. let her realize how precious she is in Your eyes..

You love her with an everlasting love.. there is nothing she can do to make You love her more.. there is nothing she can do to make You love her less.. You love her so much that if she were the only person on earth.. You would have still have sent Jesus to save her.

I pray that You give her insight as to who she is in You.. She is the daughter of the King.. she is wonderfully & perfectly made.. she is totally lovely.. she has captured Your heart.. she is the head.. not the tail.. she is more than a conqueror..

Lord, we know that the devil is a liar.. who prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.. but he is a toothless lion who Jesus has already defeated.. when we resist him, he will flee..

Yes, this thread moves along like an express train these days. It's amazing! I was careful to put instructions on the first page of this "second run through" soon as it started *smile*, cos it's also bugged me in the past when you get no info. - but need it! How many times have I boasted to others about my strength and might....In the past regretfully I have pumped myself up over all my triumphs and victories. However when it comes down to the bare self...I can not do anything with out God!

My weaknesses are His strengths....Praise God for a merciful love that is so rich in grace. I can not live a moment more with out him.....I wish the world would realize it is he who sustains everything right down to the smallest of cells to the atoms in a bomb!

Yes self-esteem is quite a big subject.
will pray for you amanda.
Im very slim. and i feel self concious at times when people look at me and ask if im eating ok.
i suppose i have ups and downs. if im feeling down i dont tend to eat so much.
I think my main struggle is realising that God loves me for who i am. I seem to just mess it up so many times.
i just know im so selfish. its hard at times..

Oh, wow Jo, God doesn't just love you as you are - He ADORES you!!! You may find that hard to believe/accept. But it's true. I mean none of us deserve that He adores us, and thinks we are just WONDERFUL!!!

But you CAN believe this! It's true. Know what? It's true even if you have trouble believing it. How about THAT! Because when a thing is true... then it's TRUE!!!

We say, 'But I'm not worthy.' Or we THINK this anyway. Of course that's quite correct. BUT... that is NOT how He sees us. He sees us as TOTALLY worthy! Mind-blowing, hey!

"Lord, we are SO grateful that you see us as beautiful, and that you adore Jo. Just as she is!! Wow, that you do that is just so amazing! Thankyou for your great love for us. This reminds me of the story of the 2 people who entred the temple and one was very pleased with himself and the other was humble and addmitted he was weak?
i forgot the passage but tells the same thing :it's when we addmit our weakness that God will help us and give us His sprit but if we think we are good without it God wont oblige us and we continue to lie on ourselves.​
