Regarding your last point, I'd have to state that I'm not on a journey to Canterbury.
That doesn't matter.

It doesn't matter any more than when StevenFrancis wrote: "I respect all brothers and sisters in Christ, no matter where they find themselves in their journey to Rome."
It's very nice of you to criticize people, when you refuse to look at yourself in the same situation. It's as if you'd criticize the Brits for spelling color and favor with a u. You disagree with their idiom, so you criticize it. We call our journey in faith our journey to Rome. So, just because you don't like the implication, you can't accept what it really means, regardless of how it's said. Meh.

About 5 seconds ago...thanks for posting it!!

http://www.catholictradition.org/Two...pure-heart.htm

So, you asked the Immaculate Heart of Mary to be your salvation? What kind of salvation do you believe you received from the Immaculate Heart of Mary?

I assume you also frequently use this prayer, as well,

[/SIZE]

PRAYER TO THE MOST PURE HEART OF MARY

O HEART most pure of the Blessed Virgin Mary,
obtain for me from Jesus a pure and humble heart.

SWEET HEART OF MARY, be my salvation.
BLESSED VIRGIN, who didst keep in thy heart the
precious treasure of the words of Jesus thy Son and,
pondering over the sublime mysteries therein contained,
couldst only live for God, how I am confounded by the
coldness of my heart! Ah, dear Mother, obtain for me the
grace of meditating always on the holy law of God and of
seeking to follow thine example in the fervent practice
of all the Christian virtues.

SWEET HEART OF MARY, be my salvation.

When have I ever criticized you? Please show me? I've criticized your views of the Catholic Church, but not you. Strike that, I've corrected your errors. I've not said word one about you personally.

Very frequently. And then there are the other people you reply to.

Oh please. That is not in the least accurate.

Maybe I've offended you by something I've said, but I never commented on you, or anyone else, personally. I'm really sorry if the truth hurts.

In your humble estimation, maybe not. But I'm not here to disparage someone else's faith-yours, or anyone else's. I come here to correct errors that folks like you spout about the Catholic Church. I've seen many from you, and others. And tried to correct them. Whether for your own benefit, or the benefit of others.

What do you do when others correct your errors?

What do you do when others correct your errors?
It depends. Usually, I examine what they're correcting and see if there's any truth to what they're saying. If they're right, I admit my error.

What about you? I guess my point is this: I've never seen much to disagree with in many Protestant sects' belief systems. I don't even try to tell them what they believe. I do see lots of disagreement from Protestants who try to dissect Catholicism and take it apart, though. And I see lots of attempts to prove what Catholics believe to be wrong. I wonder why you bother. What I do is try to correct the mistakes you guys make about Catholicism.

Oh come off it. You're trying to sell the idea that if you insult someone else here and say all manner of judgmental things about them and their messages and opinions, it doesn't count as anything "personal" so long as you do not say "You are a dirty ____." But any other way of wording it is benign and it's fine to say that they don't know what they're talking about, are not being truthful, etc. etc.

That is what we call a rationalization and it only fools the one doing it.

Show me an example, Albion, of something I've said about you personally, otherwise, get off your horse.
I don't know anything about you to criticize, so I don't. I might say that's a stupid idea, but I'm talking about the idea, not the one making it. I have enough issues of my own to work on to worry about yours. But when you mischaracterize my faith, I am going to call you on it. I know I've done that, many times. And I know you don't like it. But if you get the teaching of the Church right, I'll be the first to pat your back. Haven't seen it yet. But I wish I could.

You know, you have long seemed to me to be totally unaware of the contents of your posts. And that's giving you the benefit of the doubt. Even when they are referred back to you, you have said they don't mean what they say or that you didn't say what you did.

Therefore, there's no point in calling your behavior to your attention. or hoping for a change. I thought for a moment that there might be, but there isn't.

I will close by reminding you that I have indeed posted (on another thread) a great example of something you said you never do. So that dare was issued and answered...within minutes, and I know you read it. Yet you're still demanding that I produce it.

Now go on and say that it doesn't exist, you never wrote what is quoted, or whatever makes you feel superior. You'll be the only one of the two of us reading it, but that's all right since you're the only one your posts are intended for anyway.

There's a few threads like that again. Watch out for fire hydrants.

What is the Heart of Mary? That is the question....

Perhaps our friend doesn't realize that the IC was infallibly dogmatized in the 19th century, meaning that any RC not accepting and believing it commits a mortal sin which, in turn, would damn that person to hell (exactly as you explained earlier).

Your friend does very much realize the IC is dogmatized....and does understand that as a Catholic it is required to be believed...perhaps you and our other friend fail to realize what herasy means and how that is applied to those who are ignorant and/or non-Catholic?

Well, DC is a new convert, you know. They almost always think that getting through an RCIA class makes them instant theologians and that nobody who isn't currently a member of the Church can't possibly know anything about it--because, of course, they themselves found all of this to be new when they joined, and also because that view of 'non-Catholics' is part of what they are told in class. ;)

If 9 years a Catholic makes me a "newbie" then...I guess I am guilty. But thanks for speaking for me and for marginalizing my understanding of the Catholic faith...how is your Anglican knowledge coming anyhow?

Didn't know he was a newbie. Obviously the members are not always 'fully' informed about what they are really doing and conveying til they decide to be on their own. Then they either get to be real hardliners or they reconsider their actions of potential damnation and how much 'critical information' they really want to engage with for other people's salvation.

The hardliners 'get off' on it. Faith to them is bullying spirituality and firey threats to others to 'bow the knee' to them (their constructs.)

I was fortunate to catch on to this game early on in my believing life.

Yes...you have clearly demonstrated your total understanding of the Catholic faith...all anyone has to do is read the last 10 pages or your thought provoking work...
