The beast of Rev 13:2 is a worldly beast as I stated before, just as the Lord warned Israel not to take up the doctrines and false idols of those other Gentile nations.

Leviticus 18:26 Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations; neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you:Deuteronomy 18:9
When thou art come into the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.

Ezekiel 6:9
And they that escape of you shall remember me among the nations whither they shall be carried captives, because I am broken with their whorish heart, which hath departed from me, and with their eyes, which go a whoring after their idols: and they shall lothe themselves for the evils which they have committed in all their abominations.

Because Israel took up the false idols and doctrines of those surrounding Gentile nations, they also set up the image which would provoke the Lord to jealousy. And by all their abominations they also polluted the sanctuary of strength, which would also bring forth their desolation.

The beast was Rome that is what you see in Revelation 13.

Because Israel "played the harlot" Israel is the Mystery Bablyon Mother Of Harlots". The woman (harlot) riding the beast (Rome) in Rev 17.

Revelation is about the destruction of Jerusalem...I don't hold anything to be future in Revelation but the rapture at Christ coming to judge the quick and the dead.

That's where I stand on it.

Revelation is about the destruction of Jerusalem...I don't hold anything to be future in Revelation but the rapture at Christ coming to judge the quick and the dead.

That's where I stand on it.

I would have to respectfully disagree, as I've heard that view before.

But one does need to understand to also look to the past events in scripture in order that they might see and understand the language used in the book of Revelation.

Just as Israel did play the harlot, and was the mother of the 2 harlot daughters in scripture; and Babylon was the kingdom who laid siege to Jerusalem and took captive her people. All these events, including the destruction of Jerusalem by the Roman army in 70 a.d. where all clues to the much bigger mystery to be fulfilled later, here in the last days.

Here's a verse that opened up my mind to viewing many of those past events which would also foreshadow the future events.

Ecclesiastes 3:15
That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.

But no matter, I'm not here to argue other persons views, just to share what I believe the Lord has shown me by His Spirit.

You may differ in your views and still honor one another in Christ.

Just an opinion in the light of Rev.22:18, 19 .... The first beast (Rev.13:1-10) is the antichristian power, operative TODAY The second beast (Rev.13:11-18) is the antichristian propaganda, also operative TODAY Babylon the Great is the antichristian empire, also operative TODAY

The great harlot, Rev.17, is again Babylon the Great; but now she is being presented as being clothed with all the antichristian seductiveness, as luring us in, TODAY, to commit whoredom, unknowingly of course (IIThess.2:11, 12) and to be made drunk with the wine of her whoring, where we think we are all sober.
