Hi folks! I have an idea here for both the men and the women. Anybody out there feeling fabulously FLABBY and forty?

Anybody see the Holidays scuhreeeaaamin' at ya, superloaded with calories?

Well, before kids I was in great shape, and I have been trying to get back to something reasonable for the past 9 years. I have been able to maintain, but it's tough, and let's face it, life takes over, and metabolism takes over, and sometimes we need some support.

I am not promoting a diet here. I actually have never believed in strict diets. I am suggesting we have a support thread here for making healthy choices, with our main focus on being as active as we can and enjoying it. Let's take a "consume what is personally healthy for you (with a treat now and then so we don't go insane) and burn it in ways we all enjoy!" approach.

For those who want in, try to post every day what you are going to do to, then post when you did it. If you feel you need encouragement, put it on here. We can all cheer each other on.

Especially for activities, do something you enjoy. For healthy food choices, it may help to list something healthy you love to eat instead.

We may not lose any flab, but we just might make it through the Holidays without gaining! We might feel stronger next week than we did today!

Everyone is welcome, whatever you do, just be good to yourself.


And, remember, God knows if you are being honest!

I suppose I better go first.

During my fave daytime show today, I am going to get on my exercize bike and use it for 20 minutes. Then I am going to streach. (That happens at 11:00 CST)

I am going to use half the flavor shot in my coffee than I usually do, but I will take the time to sprinkle some cinnamon on top because I LIKE IT, and THE CINNAMON IS GOOD FOR ME.

I'll post again later, when I have done those.:wave:

Ok, I work at Curves (who here doesn't know that by now?) so I get a five day a week workout there. I love biking and in the winter I do my exercise bike. I also like walking, but winter walking here can be dangerous. Also - I TRY to cut back on bad carbs. I don't always accomplish it.

Ok, I work at Curves (who here doesn't know that by now?) so I get a five day a week workout there. I love biking and in the winter I do my exercise bike. I also like walking, but winter walking here can be dangerous. Also - I TRY to cut back on bad carbs. I don't always accomplish it.
HuffHuffPuffPuff. I did it. Both the coffee and my guilt free half hour of TV on the bike!

Note....haven't been on the thing in 3 weeks. I'll be paying tomorrow, but I have to get back at it!

I'll start walking this evening up and down the road, my son can bring his dog along too. I will leave the last chocolate covered cherry in the box, and go grab my carrot's. I could lose a few pounds and get more fit, and healthier. What a great idea this is faithmom, I love this thread. :) I hope everyone joins in too.

Hey, walking in the snow offers great resistance and will result in more calorie burning!!!! :D ;)

AND we may be getting some snow where I am this weekend!

Ideas to keep in mind for fun snowtime-winter exercize activities:

Skating, snowshoing, skiing DH and CC, sledding (the tubing/tobaganning type for the huffhuffpuffpuff) and CAROLLING by foot. Or just walking around to see Christmas lights. Building snowpeople/snowforts/snowball fights.

Again, this thread is about having fun while we do this!

A little stiff, but not as bad as I thought. Today to get outdoors and keep moving, I am going to rake the leaves and dried plants out of the garden, and during my fave daytime program today, I am going to do yoga with a good ab workout.

THEN I am going to take a hot shower and us this awesome mandarin mint salt scrub I have, for a nice reward.

I'm continuing with behaving on my coffee flavor shots!

I don't have a problem with Holiday calories. I shy away from sweets naturally unless I have made them. I have much better things to do than bake all day.

I personally was in better shape before my kids hit college. (Long Story)

I am concentrating on water intake right now. I would like to be taking in the recommended amount of liquids per day. I have edema in my face, hands and feet right now, and I have been led to understand that water intake will flush that through to a certain extent.
