  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

If he does make it, it could be very good - the only problem would be casting. Yes, McKellan as Gandalf is a requirement. But who's going to play all those dwarves? You can't have John Rhys-Davies, because Gimli isn't in it. Furthermore, he encompassed much of the dwarvish culture with that role, now you have to do 14 excellent dwarves, each with quirks. And Bilbo - Ian Holm isn't getting any younger.

I do hope that if he does it, he is able to work the Battle of the Five Armies in there. I can easily see where it would be easier to cut it off after they've killed Smaug.

I have to disagree with the comments on George Lucas's newer Star Wars movies. They were not sequels but legitimate pieces of the saga. He planned on making them for a long time and to say he was just trying to make some extra cash is ridiculous. All six were a part of his vision and he wanted to make them all, so he did. He only gets money to make movies. As far as The Hobbit goes, I'm sure he'll stick to the intentions of Tolkien. Jackson is a huge Tolien fan and a great filmaker, which is why the Trilogy was so good. Movies are about risk, and I beleive he should go for it and see what he gets.

what he said
