  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Well I've been long awaiting Peter Jackson to end his filming of King Kong...

Now that it is done with I was so sure he'd start on "The Hobbit" movie, but I don't even know if the movie will even happen o0

I've read rumors, but that's all I can find, RUMORS!
Anyone have any REAL info. on this?

If the Hobbit doesn't make it to theaters, I'll be heart broken...
The books have become one of my favorites I've ever read, and the movies are definitely the best I've ever seen...

Please let there be a Hobbit movie :prayer:

yeah, another gandalf isn't an option IMO.
Especially with how old gandalf is in the books... it's not like they'll be makeing him look younger just because it's a prequal.

But if I was in the movie makeing buisiness, I could clearly see how wise it would be to make this movie. So much money can be raked in.
But also, IMO, it's like completing a story.

If Tolkein hadn't of written The Hobbit, the Lord of the Rings would have been a good story, yes, but still, it would make you wonder of all the things Bilbo had gone through.

Jackson has not rueld it out but has wanted to work on a few other projects first. I think it will happen for sure. I just hope it happens while McKellen is still living.

It will definetly not sell if Mckellen's out... (Cant wait till D-Code comes out)
I hope he lives to do alot more films... I enjoy him very much in all his films.... Him and Christopher Lee....

From what I understand, it was put on hold because of a legal battle with the owners of the copyright? I thought that's what they were talking about on onering. :\

I've read that, too. I think the issue is that Tolkien (or his estate) sold the movie rights to The Hobbit and LotR to different people. Whoever owned the rights to TH sat on it, and now that LotR hit it big they're demanding a steep price for the rights to TH.

well that's lame ....

In other words they're makeing the fans of a long awaited movie wait because they're jealous...

And not that I'm doubting that Elijah Wood will be in the hobbit... i'm just wondering, why?

Frodo wasn't even born in that time was he?
In The Fellowship of the Ring Frodo's like.. 55 or something, ya?
