There's no threat here, believing in something someone says because they have a lab coat without any way to verify their claims is FAITH. You have faith just in something different then I do. At the end of the day your still clinging to faith in something.

I would say the greatest failure of science is, its ability to destroy the earth has outpaced its ability to save or preserve it.

We learned about induction and invented the motor. And now we have air pollution. Nuclear research has produced more weapons, warships, spent fuel rods, hot wastewater, and fallout than anything else. GMO crops ballooned the human population, but we have not yet adapted the planet to the new population. Advances in metallurgy and chemistry...led us to guns. And guns have led all kinds of species to extinction. And plastics--so cheap & easy to create. But to recycle and degrade--not so much.

I love science. I just think they should be stronger advocates for their beneficial discoveries. They should have a strong lobby group to promote beneficial legislation. Sadly they often sell out to industries that weaponize their discoveries. They are also very self serving, ignoring serious problems and instead choosing research that has limited or subjective appeal.

like I said the only real failure in science is when it fails to double and tripple check things, some things like the big sciences, evolutoin, cosmology and such it tries to debunk egularly but other things smaller things...it some times too often takes as fact and it's years later when we realize that wolf packs with a alpha's don't exist, and are a product of zoo's :>

What does "reduced to insignificance" mean in this regard? Also using an 'instrument' to observe simply presents what could not be seen without one. The 'reality' wasn't changed, just one's perception. Changing the tire pressure by releasing a bit into a guage, and thus the reality of it, isn't what I mean by observation. Just looking at a tire won't change it's inflation pressure.
