Interesting - to what are you referring?The greatest failure of science is selling the name of science to support modern mythology, while failing to be real science or even a decent myth.
Science isn't the failure, it's the non-scientists using science apart from philosophy to promote an agenda.

If not prescriptive what is it's purpose? Don't scientists create drugs for the very purpose of being prescribed? (Of course there are devils in those details.)

Clearly seeing the Creation which expresses the attributes, character, and nature of God, but denying the Creator. This is called "so-called Science".... "seeking knowledge of the Universe while suppressing the Knowledge of God" It's not true, complete, whole, pure Science. It's foolishness.
