Your major problem is you think you have access to knowledge about the conditions in which the universe itself exists.

No i don't, but that's not even relevant.

And from there you think you can make definitive statements like "a universe needs a prior event to 'cause' it". Or "a universe cannot exist eternally and uncaused".

Not my statements, but they could have been, except for the definitiveness.

Neither of us can say what time and cause even mean in the realm where universes exist, 'outside' of our universe. All we know about is how things behave within our universe. (And even then, only in our observable region - but thats another story).

It's not that relevant.

The trend is not about you, but a trend it certainly is, in 'western' culture anyway.
People say: "Nothing is what it seems" and things like that.
Then nothing would be conceivable. (BOT )

I'm perfectly comfortable going through daily life using my strong inference that the typical material things around me have a material cause, in a time-sequence.

But I have no basis at all for extending that inference to the universe itself, in whatever realm universes exist. None. If you have a basis for that, please provide it.
