During 2019 many financial experts were predicting a "reset" of the Global economy during 2020.
After the beginning of the pandemic this year many were saying the pandemic would be used as the excuse to "reset" the Global economy, and were labeled as "Conspiracy Theorists".
Now mainstream news sources and world leaders are openly promoting a "reset" of the world economy.
James Corbett is a researcher who has been discussing this topic during recent years and was one of those labeled as a "Conspiracy Theorist".
Will Corbett receive an apology from those who labeled him as a nut? I doubt it.

I watched this through, because I wanted to understand what all the fuss was about.
It seems that the thesis is this:
The "Great reset" is an attempt to centralise control by governments, in the name of socialised medecine, equality, addressing poverty etc. It is an attempt to neutralise privately based platforms of power, or wealth, in order to achieve a new world order, where the citizen is dependent on the state, for his education, health, income (UBI), from cradle to grave. This control can then be leveraged to obtain control, and force the patterns of behaviour favoured by the globalised political elite driving this. COVID-19 has been used as an accelerator for these trends.
Then I thought through how much of this agenda is really not that bad and how much is stuff that seems dangerous in the long run.
1) Socialised medecine: The American system costs twice as much as socialised medecine in Europe, which means half the money in consumers pockets and a massive amount of added insecurity. So it is hard to see this as an evil really
2) The levels of inequality in our world are seriously destabilising, provoking wars and also mass migrations for example. Why would attempts to moderate these be so problematic.
Where I thought the guy might have had a point was on issues like destroying small businesses and private platforms of social critique and finance. But is this a concerted effort by political elites, or just mere economies of scale forcing changes, in the market place. The Mittelstand in Germany remains globally competitive and not sure this destruction of small businesses is as yet a valid observation at all
Also the notion of a surveillance society is moderated by things like the recent GDPR regulations from the EU, so I also wondered at how valid this was. Technologies can work for and against the state. AIs can serve the state and confound its efforts. In practice there is, and always will be, a tension between public and private. The dissolution of personalities and the weakness that many perceive in their own identities is probably more to do with a lack of Christian faith and substance, than with the power of elites over our lives.
