Melinda whirled around to face Lucy, then nodded, smiling slightly. "Yeah."

"Are you sure your knee's all right?" Edmund asked Laura. "It looks pretty bad."

 

[Ellesar]

Lucy smiled at Melinda and said, "Follow me." She then turned and started walking down the hallways. Soon they were in the hallway they had first started in.

Laura absentmindedly nodded. She continued to gently rub it. "It's fine." I can barely walk on it...but it's fine... She moved slightly, and her knee bumped into the underside of the table, and she grit her teeth to keep from crying out.

 

[Lessien]

"Thanks," Melinda said. "Did whoever built this place WANT people to get lost, or what?" she joked.

"It doesn't look fine," Edmund said. "I'll go get some ice." He stood.

 

[Ellesar]

Lucy laughed and said, "Once you know the layout, it isn't that difficult to find your way around."

"I don't need ice." Laura said stubbornly.

 

[Lessien]

"I guess," Melinda said. "Must take a while to learn the layout, though."

"Whatever you say," Edmund said, sitting again.

 

[Ellesar]

"Not really." Lucy said with a smile. "It usually only takes a little while."

Laura just stared at the tabletop. ((someone needs to see through this stubborn act of hers))

 

[Lessien]

Melinda shrugged. "If by 'a little while,' you mean 'forever,' then, yeah, you're right."

Edmund just sat there, staring at Laura.

 

[Ellesar]

Lucy laughed again and led the way toward the dining hall.

"What?" Laura asked, feeling uncomfortable under Edmund's stare.

 

[Lessien]

Edmund kept staring. "I won't quit until you tell me what's wrong."

 

[Ellesar]

"What do you mean?" Laura asked, shifting uncomfortably in her seat.

 

[Lessien]

"There's something wrong, other than your knee," Edmund replied calmly, his eyes never leaving her face.

 

[Ellesar]

"There's nothing wrong." Laura mumbled, looking back down at the table...but she couldn't hide the blush that rose up her neck and face. She shifted uncomfortably in her seat under Edmund's steady gaze.

 

[Lessien]

Edmund shrugged, still staring at Laura. "Liar."

 

[Colabomb]

[Ellesar]

Laura just continued to stare at the tabletop. "Why do you care? I'm just a 10-year-old that nobody wants or cares about." She was holding her hands in her lap, and they balled into fists.

((you need to get your character to Cair Paravel. which really isn't close to any of the forests))

 

[Lessien]

Edmund quit staring. "If no one cared about you, then would I want to know what was wrong?"

((What if she was there with the Pevensies, but didn't go into the wardrobe until a moment after they did (since Narnia and Earth are basically in different time zones)?))

Edmund quit staring. "If no one cared about you, then would I want to know what was wrong?"

Laura shrugged but didn't say anything. She had been bounced around so many boarding schools in the past few years...each one farther away. That coupled with the fact that her family didn't want her, left a lot of emotional scars on the young girl.

 

[Lessien]

Edmund said nothing. If Laura didn't want to talk, he wasn't about to make her, but he wouldn't let her sulk without talking about what was wrong, either. "Did something happen?"

 

[Ellesar]

Laura sighed softly and started to tell Edmund what was really wrong. "I was sent off to boarding school as soon as I was old enough...actually they sent me when I was about 4. Each year, or every two years, I'd be moved to a different school, each one farther away than the last. I'm in Lancaster now...but I'm afraid that they'll send me out of the country next. No one wants me." Tears came to Laura's eyes and she quickly wiped them away.
