  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Oh all kinds of folk, you could convert it into some kind of cool underground shopping mall, restaurants, or just hold illegal raves in it ^_^ (which is apparently what's happenning in the Yorkhill tunnel!)

I blame this idea on watching the last 5 minutes of Restoration on BBC2 last night...but perhaps we could have suggested it to be...er...restored.

Either that or we need some kind of silly DIY program like Changing Rooms. A couple of bits of MDF, Handy Andy and a can of paint and hey presto you've got a brand spanking new Botanical Cafe...or something.

I don't know why they chose the route they did... it didn't exactly show the most scenic side of Glasgow! Was just a bit... of a strange route lol! But yea, was alright I suppose :) Kind windy, cold and you couldn't always hear the guy... but hey :p lol!

You've got me curious now lol Where did you get this bus from? How much did it cost?

Two questions for all you weegies:

1 - What are the best christian bookshops in Glasgow? I know about Wesley Owen, are there any others?

2 - What's the deal with those underground trainline things in the Botanic Gardens?

peace
Andy

This thread having dealt sucessfully with Question 2, I thought it was about time to focus on Question 1. :D

I have had people mumble at me about Christian Bookshops in Glasgow but the only other one besides Wesley Owen (that I can think of anyhoo) is Cornerstone. Not even sure if its still there :(

Addy is: Renfield St Stephen's Church Centre, 260 Bath Street, Glasgow, G2 4JP

Website: www.cornerstonebooks.org.uk

Also found this site - although its nationwide and you'd need quite a bit of time to go through it I think...

http://www.christianbookshops.org.uk/shopmain.htm

Hope its of some help :D

Georgie Square of course :p lol :) 6 quid for 'students' basically anyone that looks like a student :) Or 8 quid for an adult. It's worth a look actually!

Cold and windy? It is Glasgow you know! ^_^

Anyway they're usually pretty good those open-top tour things. Although apparently one of the Glasgow ones has been telling people that the church I go to is disused!

We've already got Handy Andy :p ;) :D

Sorry Fijian - but it had to be said ;) :D

lol Now, now...don't tease. Who knows when you might need someone to make you a dining table and matching chairs from a few MDF cutoffs?

Who'd have imagined that when this thread began, it'd deviate into the seedy world of MDF and questionable interior design...
