CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

People, people! What's going on here? I disappear for a week or two and come back to find the Glasgow thread and the Scottish thread both languishing back on page 3???? 
We've had glorious weather, the West End festival (parade was better than the last couple of years, but still needs some improvement) - where have you all been?? Come on you Weegies, out of the woodowork - show yourselves!!!

I've not had much chance to come and say hello lately, but managed to fit in a couple of minutes this evening. I thought I'd mention something quite important - particularly for us Glasgow folk... Our church is about to start an annual week of summer outreach events. One of the big events planned was a series of free activities for the youth and community on the south side of Glasgow, for which we had booked a new sporting complex. Glasgow City Council have recently cancelled our booking on the basis that it cannot be let to a Christian organisation. We need to pray for our countries decision makers at this time.
