What is a pride candidate? In the States, the focus seems different. Candidates favoring subsides are narrowly focused on being pride candidates, and offering free college and health care. The better aspects of their agenda are overshadowed.

In the States, the focus seems different.
That's part of it. It may be, too, the focus of liberal fund raisers in New York and other places.Kudos to the smear campaign.
Yes, but she won mostly because of a fringe segment turning out when no one else did. Her sudden abandonment by said fringe is going to really hurt her going forward. The article is saying she is not a socialist. That is true she never claimed to be a socialist.
Surely you remember the difference in definition between a socialist and a democratic socialist from Bernie Sanders' campaign.
I keep referring to Bernie because she does. She worked on his campaign as a volunteer and identifies herself with his same politics. Surely you knew that?Yes, but she won mostly because of a fringe segment turning out when no one else did. Her sudden abandonment by said fringe is going to really hurt her going forward.
Also, you keep using Bernie like he's still the hallmark for the left, but they've already decided that he's not pure enough these days:

Yes, it is. Free markets work well at the local level. It's hard to have an international free market.

Seems to me that if you're the only ones showing up, you're not the "fringe."
He hadn't been challenged in years, so a very small turn out was all that was needed to win the primary.
In my city, there is a local farmers market where only locally grown produce can be sold. It works well. The less the government is involved the better. This is different though than selling produce across international borders. Our government needs to be involved, otherwise our producers will be taken to the cleaners. I think this is true in other industries. It sounds like you're saying freemarket principles don't work.
Therecs a difference between the freemarket working, and the freemarket working to our advantage.
Anyhow, the fact that the Socialists have dumped her really misses the big fact: she seems to have lied about her upbringing. I say seems to, because maybe having a dad as an architect really is what the upper class progressives who like to LARP as socialists believe poverty is like.

At local level, low barriers to entry are better. Otherwise, only the already established can afford to be sellers. Why?
IOW, our government needs to be involved, otherwise the free market will take our producers to the cleaners...
you love it only as long as you win at it.
In some cases, yes. In others, no.Sounds like you're saying the freemarket doesn't work then?
