The Old Testament Saints received salvation by believing on Gods promise of Christ.
The Old Testament points to Gods Promise of a saviour throughout.
The Allegory of Christ in the prophetic events are unmistakable and, the Old Testament Saints recived
the promise by faith of the resurrection of Gods final sacrifice for mankind.
During the Ministry of Christ those who believed on His divine purpose recieved salvation in the same dispensation as the Old Testament Saints.
The prior ministry of John the Baptist brought many to salvation through faith.
We see John declaring upon Jesus's arrival, Behold the Lamb that taketh away the sins of the World.
After the resurrection we learn a New dispensation has begun with the Apostles.
John 20: 20. And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord. 21. Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. 22. And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost: 23. Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.
Just as God breathes life into the first man Adam, Christ Breathed the spirit of God into the Apostles, and they were reborn to everlasting life.
Hence fourth from this point all men believe in Christ Death burial and resurrection, the promise was fulfilled.
There was no other way then and, now for life eternal.
Romans 10: 8. But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
This may be common knowledge among believers yet, there is another promise in the New Testament.
We are much divided on the next page, as to what was Gods will for New Testament Believers.
When you read on in John not much happened after this event.
The Apostles went back to their normal lives and, went fishing.
Christ Appears to them again and dwelt with them for forty days.
end see reply.
