I had some prize winning Zinnias last summer. Our little squirel friends tried digging them up every morning. I ened up surrendering the Zinnias to them since they apprecited them so. Each morning I came to the garden, I just fixed the soil and surprisingly most of them survived.The squirels seemed to not like the Geraniums at all.
Dahlia is on my favorite list...very easy to grow where I live.
Another Dahlia...they come in many types and sizes. I grow the short ones for the tall ones can go over your head. Buchart Gardens has all the varieties.
I had a few nice Daisy like this one and in multiple colors. I paid a good price for them. I was able to keep them protected from the squirels TeeeHeeeee.
Petunia in my Midwest garden are a standard filler. I pick the colors same as those I post here.
A touch of Merigold are delightful.
For the color RED I always choose the standard Geranium shown here. However I do purchase The Martha Washington too when they are available.
