• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

As long as you affirm Christ as the incarnate, eternal Son of God who died for our sins and was raised for our justification you are in all respects a traditional Christian.
Myself and most TEs I know would affirm this. Which makes the following quote all the more incongruous:

In fact, in many cases I see no discernible difference between Theistic Evolution and Liberal Theology.

Indeed. And it's interesting to note how much quicker the conservative theologians were to adopt the theory of evolution than their liberal counterparts. I don't say this to knock liberal theologians, but I do think it undermines a lot of the idea that evolution is inherently liberal. It's true, with the influence of the Fundamentalists conservatism in America has changed pretty drastically. But if by conservative one means conservatism aside from 20th century developments, then there doesn't seem to be anything inherently contradictory between conservative theology and the theory of evolution.

Really, mark, what is your problem? You've been in two threads now where you've said some very unsupportable things, and when called on them you pretend that your opponent is somehow out to get you or it trolling. That's not how one should handle himself. I don't know why you're so frightened of admitting that you might be wrong - you shouldn't be. It's not like any of us are perfect. But to dance around it because you don't want to recognize it is just wrong.

My biggest problem is that you have derailed another thread with you off-topic jabs. Trust me when I tell you it is anything but frightening to fend off you ad hominem attacks. On the contrary, it tells me that you desperately don't want to have a conversation on the 'fundamentals' of Creationism. That's why you play your little games and pretend you have uncovered some error because I don't agree with the status quo.

Do yourself a favor, get some new material.

Spam threads are meant to be derailed. If AV wants to come on these forums post a bunch of links then run away hoping we read them all, and waste our time responding to the air, then we should derail the thread and go off topic, and call everyone atheist and liberal.

Though I am surprised by how much you resent the word liberal, and yet call yourself a democrat.

Neither does the OP. I'm only following his lead.

By the way, mark, calling someone on an incorrect statement (or multiple incorrect statements, or denying that they were incorrect, or avoiding addressing criticism) isn't an ad hominem attack.
