Still waiting for you to post the scriptures that teach us we are saved first, then we believe.

Still waiting for you to post the scriptures that teach how we are saved if not by believing.

Those by the wayside are the ones who hear; then the devil comes and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. Luke 8:12

  • lest they should believe and be saved.

The very thing that Jesus taught, is the thing these folks needed to do was believe, so that they could be saved.

Each person who hears the Gospel must believe in order to be saved.

In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory. Ephesians 1:13-14

  • after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,

Which comes first? The tree or the fruit?

The tree comes first, then the fruit.

Just as believing comes first then salvation.

According to Jesus, what was it those by the wayside lacked, in order to be saved?

Jesus paid for their sins on the cross. They believe (are saved) before they even want to confess.

Jesus paid for their sins on the cross.

Only those who believe AND confess with their mouth will be saved.

For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:10

“unto salvation” meaning a lifelong profession resulting from heart belief. Not a work as many believe.

I don’t really know what this is supposed to mean.

The point I was making is we are saved by believing and confessing with our mouth, not beforehand.

You think you save yourself by reciting an incantation. But those who are saved confess Jesus their entire life span unto final salvation. Why? Because God saved them. And they love to talk about Jesus.

Im saying salvation is the result of believing.

You are saying believing is the result of salvation.

You are totally backwards.

Faith is a fruit of the Holy Spirit (= salvation if you have the Holy Spirit so you can believe).

You are reading free will into scripture turning grace into law. You say you must do this or that to save yourself. But God saves people who cannot save themselves. And you can pick them out because they believe as a result of God saving them.

You trust in yourself thinking you did what was required. But nothing is required. When God saves a person they believe and speak of Jesus.

I trust in Christ, the Author of my Salvation, to do what He says.

You on the other hand can’t answer a simple question.

How are we saved if we don’t believe?

How in the world is believing the Gospel, turning grace into law?

LOL!!!!!

If it is a condition you must meet to save yourself it is works. People who are saved by grace believe as a result of God first saving them.

The Bible is plain in what it says. If it says we believe, and then we are saved, then that is what it means. That is not reading "free will" into the Bible but that is called "basic rules of reading."

For example: If a dog jumps over the fence and lands in big puddle of water on the other side, this means the dog got wet AFTER he jumped over the fence. But if somebody had a personal motivation or benefit to gain in saying that the dog was wet beforehand, they may distort the story and tell others that the true story is simply not the reality that they prefer to show.
