I must say, if nothing else this thread shows that many seem to have slept through basic biology classes.

More like, have built up defense mechanisms, because reality goes against their personal faith beliefs.

Is this inability to ingest ascorbic acid indemic in all omnivores?
What does indemic mean?

Any organism can ingest ascorbic acid: in what way is that relevant?

What a biological cell does, a rock cell does the similar.
You can't poison a rock... you can't encourage a rock to grow with food... A rock won't reproduce...

What’s the betting that klutedavid doubles down on ‘indemic’ and the incorrect use of ‘ingest’?
We cannot synthesise it due to a mutation in the GULO gene. Normally GULO is an enzyme that catalyses the reaction of D-glucuronolactone with oxygen to L-xylo-hex-3-gulonolactone. Our non human primate ancestors lost the ability to do so about 61 million years ago. (someone earlier mentioned this)

Do all omnivores suffer from the failure to synthesise, 'it'?

Evidence that no animal uses landmarks to navigate, please.
The infant eels that navigate from the Coral Sea down to the bottom of Australia.

These infant eels cannot use landmarks, because they have never done the journey before.

These eels have never been taught to navigate, they just do it as soon as their born.

You can poison a rock.
You can feed a rock. And,
Rock can reproduce.

If you like, I will give you examples. One at a time.

Oh I'm dying to see some examples of a rock reproducing or being fed. Please keep it PG13 though, I don't wanna be caught looking at lewd rock sex.

So what mechanism do they use?
