I'm sorry?Date, Authorship, and Authority.
Well, fire in zero gravity is supposed to be all liquidy. Maybe the Second Coming is in space?Or maybe you don't correctly understand him.

I don't see how your response was an answer to my question. Is there a question about something?
Weird...Well, fire in zero gravity is supposed to be all liquidy. Maybe the Second Coming is in space?
I don't see how your response was an answer to my question.
Weird...
And why not?
That is what goes into deciding whether a creed is accurate. As for who decides what goes into it, the obvious answer would be the authors whoever they were/are.I just don't see how my question:
"Ah, but who decides what goes in a particular Creed? By what standard is a particular Creed deemend accurate?"
is answered by your response:
"Date, Authorship, and Authority."
What do you mean by 'date', 'authorship', and 'authority'?
Yes, I understand that that's your claim, but I don't know how they are at all relevant. That is what goes into deciding whether a creed is accurate.
Yes, but why does the accuracy depend on the authors of the Creed? As for who decides what goes into it, the obvious answer would be the authors whoever they were/are.
The date gives authority to some Creeds because it demonstrates what the early Church believed. Like that in Corinthians 15, or the 'Old Roman Symbol' reflect the veiws of the Early Church who were connected with Jesus teaching.Yes, I understand that that's your claim, but I don't know how they are at all relevant.
How does the date alter the accuracy of a Creed?
Why does the accuracy vary from author to author?
By whom is authority given, and why does it affect the accuracy?
Yes, but why does the accuracy depend on the authors of the Creed?
If I write a Hindu Creed and you write a Hindu Creed, how do we determine which is more accurate?
Yes I did. Not very nice of himI haven't either. I'm still trawling through the Wheel of Time series. Did you know that the author upped and died without finishing the series.
How inconsiderate.
Joking...
I agree 0 the books are slow going. Didn't he only have one book left to write? Maybe a family member of his can decypher his notes and write it for him - like Christopher Tolkien?Yes I did. Not very nice of himThough WoT makes me tear my hair at times... I mean, it could do us the kindness of moving a bit faster. [/off-topicking]
I think that's what some people are planning to do... might have read that at wotmania.com, I'm not sure.I agree 0 the books are slow going. Didn't he only have one book left to write? Maybe a family member of his can decypher his notes and write it for him - like Christopher Tolkien?
